2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Boreft Beer Festival 2012. Near black with a red highlight. Lasting tan head. Aroma of dried fruit, licorice and strong alcohol. Sweet licorice and hot, hot alcohol in the flavour. Bitter finish
Sampled @ Borefts 2014. Great! Just how I like them. Alcohol presence is very strong, but that didn’t mind me. Really enjoyed drinking (or sipping) this. Very expressive and compelling beer with a fine taste. goozen (4178) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JAN 20, 2014
Tap at Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2014: Black opaque thick liquid beer with an intense burning mouthfeel. Heavy roasted malts as hints, quite overwhelming to me. ShivanDragon (4704) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - JAN 20, 2014
On tap at Gouda Winterbier Fest. Dark brown pour, not quite black, no head. Rich chocolate aromas, booze, fruits, really nice. Rich and boozy flavor, plums, raisins, rich chocolaty flavors, really tasty. Rich palate, nice booziness, light carbonation. Very nice high abv beer. Very good. gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - OCT 22, 2013
Draught at BBF13 - pours deep brown with a decent dark beige head. Aroma is peated, quite well balanced with dark and roasted malts and dark chocolate. Full body but with a tad too much alcohol heat, first sips go down well, but then the alcohol burn starts to counter a bit too much.

Dark brown, small brown head. Aroma is mild roasted malts, some alcohol. taste very much like a normal imperial stout, roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Alcohol is very well hidden. Thick, oily body with quiet high carbonation. BRW (3073) - Barcelona, SPAIN - OCT 13, 2013
Tap at Borefts. Black colour with white head. Roasted, vanilla aroma. Roasted, intense coffee taste. Alcohol warmth, also some licorice and sweetness. Full body. LomYst (929) - Rotterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 11, 2013
Sweet thick mass, rather hard to drink... port, weird chocolat, dark fruits, licorice, coffee, booze... very complex, very heavy Theydon_Bois (21480) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2013
Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13.
Dark mahogony brown with a good sized tan head.
Nose is dark malts, earthy cocoa notes, treacle toffee, burnt chocolate, light smoke, light boozey do waftings.
Taste comprises earthy cocoa, dark chocolate, roasty notes, dark malts, booze, brown sugars, rich molases vein.
Full full bodied, sticky and cloying on the palate, boozey fumes in the finale.
Despite being a mahoooosive boozey beast this is a pretty drinkable affair. Not a session beer ! madmitch76 (26413) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2013

Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 1. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is surprisingly soft and airy. Sweet dark malt, spicy whisky. Strong peat. Whisper of toffee. Finishes soft and dry with alacohol spice. Not hard to drink and warming and fortifying!
