Keg in Pomeroys, Christchurchbeereakfast (5) - NEW ZEALAND - JUL 25, 2012 does not count
Sweet caramel malt with lemon citrus honey notes on the nose. Medium body, tangerine hops. Dark toffee brown. Citrus pith in finish. Little malt in flavour, more of a BIPA. Touch of astringency in finish.
Nice robust porter. Pitch black. Smooth on the palate with a nice subtle hint of acridity from the roast barley. Full bodied and delicious. bozoNZ (778) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 18, 2010
Pint at Pomeroys. Jet black, well structured in the looks dept (does Grace proud!). Cold so not much on the nose but a well built mouthfeel. Lovely chocolate and coffee feel and the oats add body. really nice TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 29, 2010
Draft at Galbraiths (Auckland). Looks deliciously black with a generous frothy head. The nose was quite subdued. But you couldn’t say the same for the taste. The chocolate and coffee is there, but also a noticeable bacon smokiness. Not sure if this is intended, but it made me happy.
