50cl Bottle, gift from a collegue who visited N-Z. Thanks Gijs! Black beer with a creamy tan to beige head. Odd salty aroma with strong notes of tar, burnt malts and seaweed. Not very pleasant, but it does give this beer an extra edge. Flavour is tar, burnt malts, slight sweetness, some salt/seaweed, some coffee powder. Roasted bitterness underneath from start to finish. Medium to fullbodied. Very nice porter. Muggus69 (2655) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - NOV 21, 2008
500ml bottle, BB Mar 09
Served lightly chilled in chalice.
Looks the part with a well-formed tightly-packed pale tan head atop a deep dark ruby-highlighed body.
Roasty nose, plenty of chocolate upfront, bit of sweet grainy dough, nice rich caramelly undertones, only a touch of burnt malt and espresso, with some sutble leafy hop.
Creamy mouthfilling body, moderate carbontion, smooth texture, good balance overall, not overly drying or astrigent.
Body is a tiny bit of let down, in comparison to aroma; some dark chocolate and cocoa, bit of plum esters, burnt malt, wood, toffee, toasted bread, but the length is brief. Finishes quite bit, fair bit metallic and leafy, dry.
Very nice porter, let down a bit by its disappointing finish. Could well do with some more oompf body/alcoholwise. Dedollewaitor (16314) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 21, 2008
Bottle. Thanks to MadsNP. BB 08/08. Pours dark brown with a beige fluffy head. Nose is caramel, mild roast & dark fruits. Quite vinous & inviting. Taste has chocolate & nuts. Medium bodied. Very nice & tasty for a 5% porter! Grovlam (4252) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2008
Bottle. Huge creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Clear mahogany color. Aroma of lovely sweet chocolate, mild coffee, toasted malt, hint of floral notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet malty flavor with mild bitterness. Sweet chocolate and toasted malty finish. KnutAlbert (6771) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 23, 2008
Bottle, EBF, Copenhagen.
Maybe I had had too many good beers beforehand. This came out as thin, watery, a ghost of a porter instead of the real thing. Sweet, bland, boring.

Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is dark brown to black. Aroma and taste are roast malt with notes of coffee, citrus and sligtly sour. douglas88 (9568) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 25, 2008
Brought from Dunedin by Andrew, thanks man I owe you. Pours a dark cherry color with a very hug beige head. A heavy sour and burnt aroma. A very smooth and full mouthfeel. The taste was mostly a interesting burnt malt and roasted chocolate mix, followed by a bitter soapy finish. Some light coffee also. Very nice. Smooth and easygoing. dunkpigen (379) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 13, 2008
