Bottle. Dark brown colour with a huge creamy beige head. Light roasted aroma and taste with notes of coffee and chocolate. Good beer.

KiwiJonno (76) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 22, 2008
500mL Bottle. Black beer with a slight red glow to it. Small light brown head that was short lasting. The beer description on the bottle sums up the beer quite well "Roasty Malty Bitter Dark Ale". The beer has a roasty malt taste then a smooth malt/hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Clear dark redbrown color. Dryish coffee porter. Some hop. Nothing special.

Dark brown with medium beige head. Roasted malt in the nose. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, bitter coffee and caramel notes.

Bottle @ Aarhus, 2008.
Pours deep, red-mahogany with a small, creamy beige head. Aroma is softly roasted, some dark chocolate. Light and fine carbonation - very fitting for a porter. Flavour is super soft, chocolate, subdued roasted. Finishes with a touch of raisins. A truly inspirational London Porter!

madquacker (1170) - Canberra ACT, AUSTRALIA - MAR 21, 2008
A head like the surface of the moon. Coffee and burnt white toast. salty at the back end. Quite strong in the end. Powerful brew. Prefer their APA though.

Darkest of red/browns almost opaque, big frothy light chocolate coloured head with good carbonation.Aroma liccorice, molasses, roasted hints.Flavour roasted malts, caramel liccorice good bitter, malt is nice.Good enough porter strong in flavour, finish is gritty and dry.

I like this beer, to often i’ve had acrid porters that are tough going but this is surprisingly mellow. It’s a characterful beer that isn’t overly intense in any way i guess i’d call that ’balanced’. In any case i enjoy the hints of roastiness, the dash of sweet malt and the dry finish.

I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon. Visited the brewery too.
Really nice porter. Roasted, hoppy, smokey. Well balanced.

500ml bottle. Dark yet thin enough to see the other side of the glass. Deft dry smokey aroma. Thin body and a touch overcarbonated, the last half was more enjoyable than the first. Hints of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts the flavor is stronger than the palate that holds it.
