Bottle. Clear amber/orange colour with large creamy white mostly lasting head. Malty and hoppy aroma. Bitter flavor. MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - AUG 25, 2008
Bottle (500ml), vintage 07. Poured pale copper with a large, fluffy, domed, off-white head which lasted amazingly. A tropical fruit aroma with a burst of piney/fruity hops, strong notes of passionfruit; pineapple, mango, some apricot marmalade and sweet toffee malt. Flavor was a tropical fruity hop bitterness with sweet stonefruits (peaches, apricots), toffee malts, caramel, red berries, light notes of roasted nuts and some resin in the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/resiny mouthfeel, somewhat syrupy texture and a good finish. Very drinkable but seemed a little sweet and cloying at times. ekstedt (6746) - GŲteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 14, 2008
Draught at EBF 2008. Hazy amber, medium off-white head. Fruity, yeasty, with butter and spices. Medium bodied and smooth. Good balance, just a bit too sweet. Grovlam (4222) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 16, 2008
[EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] Average creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Very malty aroma with notes of caramel, grains, toasted malt and a hint of alcohol. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with a hint of bitterness. Malty sweet finish. FatPhil (15967) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 21, 2008

Sweet malty aroma. Caramelly body, sticky. Soft spiciness, some yeast. enjoyable to drink, I forgot to write notes! Rating mostly from week-old memory. All I remember clearly was the hedonistic aspect - and gave this a thumbs up! Should rerate.
Bottle at EBF 08. Hazy amber with lasting beige head. Not much like an old ale, bit of mustiness I suppose. Really fruity in mouth. Good. Quite red fruity though. rlgk (18847) - GŲteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 2, 2008
(EBF 2008) Golden/amber color, white head. Fruity citrus aroma. Malty sourish flavor, a bit vinous. sdriessen (320) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 19, 2009
Sweet, orange malt aroma, with citrus hops.
Fruity flavours of orange, apple and peach, but all shrouded by a biscuity malt.
A nice bitterness in the flavour, medium bodied and quite zesty.
Nice. DuffMan (10278) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 23, 2005
Cloudy, slightly orange-amber colour with a thin head. Lots of toffee and woody notes on the nose, and sweetness on the palate that became a little too syrupy for me as I finished the beer. The alcohol is warming and nice, but I think that scotch ales are just not among my favourite styles of beer. Still interesting and enjoyable to have sampled. Thanks for sharing Kevin! Pours a dark amber body, with an off white head about 1cm thick. Aromas are plums, raisins, malty, with a touch of burbon. Taste is very much alcohol based, with some old malt, and cognac flavours. Hoppy, and sweet. Very much a barleywine IMO. Bitter lingering finish. Thanks again Kevin!
