Taster at GABS Auckland 2017. Pours black. Salt, umami, chocolate, toast, seawater. Lovely blend of stout and seafood. Good stuff.

500ml bottle (very fresh BB 5.5.2018) Black color with tan head. Chocolate malt aroma. More chocolate malt in taste with mild bitterness, smooth finish and a slight salty note. Nice one.

ElDesmadre (3627) - Mikołów, POLAND - JUL 13, 2015
Bottle, kindly provided by Cantabrian. Vanilla, coffee, chocolate liqueur, liquorice. A subtle, salty maritime note is detectable already in the aroma. Upon the first sip the senses register a deep roast mingled with liquorice, which then transforms into a lovely dark chocolate and coffee mix, only to finish again deep roasted and dry. Subtly sweet and subtly bitter, with the saltiness being stronger and the roast (the kind you get from extinguished wood in a bonfire) dominating. With every sip the palate gets more salty, while steering clear of gose-like levels. Excellent stuff.

jinroh (1578) - ESTONIA - DEC 17, 2014
Pours dark with a brown beige head. Aroma is quite heavy, has coffee, roasted malts, bit if alcohol bites. Taste has some nice toffee, chocolate, roast malts. Dark fruits and coffee. Bitter chocolate. Aftertaste is long with plenty of roast bitterness. Very nice actually.

I may have over-expected on this, or had it after two exceptionally good Stouts, but this wasn’t all that. I thought that it wasn’t a lot of things. Then I thought it was ok as a stout but that it wasn’t serious about it. Lacks depth, flavours, carry, notes and things that make you want another, Fair to middling unless you want to buy me more and prove me wrong,

Pours a rich, thick black with a tiny white head. Faint yeasty aroma, smooth to drink with strong burnt coffee flavour. Definitely worth a try.

maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 24, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head which quickly disappears. Some light spotty lacing. Nose shows heavy powdery cocoa and sea salt. Quite roasty. Straight forward stuff but very appealing either way. Taste shows heavy roast, milk chocolate, salt, almost briney. A real powdery and creamy mouth feel to it. Damn well made
