A very tasty big complex beer this one. Appears almost pitch black. Aroma of yeast, malt and alcohol. Nice thick body. Warmed me up nicely with the alcohol. Some dark fruit flavours and raisins coming through. A quietly enjoyable beverage. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 12, 2013
The head is robust, the body brown and cloudy. It smells sweet, yeasty, maltaromatic, bit alcoholic. The taste is good balanced and combinated, darkmalty, yeasty, aromatic, malty, bit hoppy, Delicious and high aromatic beer! delicious. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Bottle at Eureka. Great beer. Aromas of caramel, biscuit, and chocolate. Taste is sweet, with very long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head. bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 12, 2011
Bottle. Pours very dark borwn. Some what cloudy. Dense tan coloured head. Spicy aromas with lots of yeast character and some dark fruits. Alcohol shows through a little. Flavours are quite sweet with a little of the rosted character and some alcohol coming through on the finish. Fullish mouthfeel. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 23, 2011
While veering toward black, it has russet copper tones against light and a fluffy off-white head. This smells of shortcrust, sweet pastry, apples, cinnamon and that’s all I can divine, but that’s not a bad thing at all.
Again, the first flavour is that of baking. Lush, warm, creamy and then there’s coffee and chocolate (good Dutch chocolate) and stewed fruits. This is lovely, and might addthat I was a real nerd and made sure I drank tis beer as close to the recommended 8 degrees celcius (my electronic thermometer said 7.8). I thoroughly enjoyed this beer and will enjoy the rest slowly and deliberately.
While I’m doing so and the beer warms slightly, you get the characteristic banana cake and bubblegum.. Hmmm.

Dark brown with glowing red hue, thin dense head. Nose is malty sweet, dark fruit, nuts, banana, rum, spices. Taste malt, some caramel, burnt dark fruits, roasty bitterness, quite bitter with warming alcohol. Creamy texture with crisp bitterness. Very enjoyable, but hops are dominating the palate, where more maltiness was expected. joergen (28162) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 13, 2010

Unclear mahogany with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and wheat. Flavor had roasted malt, caramel, wheat and dark overripe fruits. Finished sweet. Ungstrup (37648) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2010
Bottled. An amber beer with brown head. The aroma has notes of wheat, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, wheat, roasted malt, and some banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2010
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a clear orangey brown with a creamy and lacing beige head. The nose has some caramel but is dominated by ugly phenols. Solid body, sweet caramel, some banana and yeast, but again lots of phenols. Alcohol in the finish. 121010
