Another great beer from Emmett’s: Firm and hoppy, not too much bitterness, just right with some soft biscuit malt undertones. Taste is is pleasent with some grapefruit, cinnamon and caramel flavours. Very nice overall. West coast style Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - AUG 7, 2009
Brew has a red-copper and brown color, very clear, dense white head with great lacing that is left on the glass. Aroma is a heavy grapefruit citrus not, light Munich malt toastedness and a little chocolate malt note. Flavor is a very strong citrus and floral hop note first, a pronounced malt note comes in next with Munich toasted malt flavors and a light chocolate malt note that finishes off this sweetness brew. Feeling of the brew is good, has a moderate density, low carbonation and a very nice head. Overall a fantastic brew with lots of great acidic citrus notes and a very well rounded roasted/toasted/bready malt presence. shigadeyo (3739) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 11, 2009

11/16/2007: Emmett’s Centennial Amber is smooth and creamy with a hazy dark amber color and is topped with a creamy beige/light tan-colored head. This beer is slightly nutty with a pleasing bitter finish. It is well-balanced overall.
Sample (draught) at Emmett’s Ale House in Oswego, IL. Rating #26 for this beer.
Pour is warm reddish amber with a sticky off white head...smell is lightly sweet with citrusy hoppy notes...tase is faintly sweet with some caramel and bread flavors....faint citrus coming up toward the end... thedm (6186) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 2, 2007
This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated orange colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy floral and malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish hoppy aftertaste. The weak flavor contained notes of malt hops and sweet. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

(Tap) Pours amber in color with little in the way of head. Aroma and taste of light caramel, biscuit, and toasted nut. Having said that, both the aroma and taste weren’t particularly strong. Medium light body, with good looking lacing. Not much in the way of a hoppy balance. An OK beer. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2007
On tap at Emmett’s - West Dundee. Poured a deeper caramel with a medium cap of creamy beige head. Aroma found sweet, stately caramel accented by northern pines.. lightly-toasted with a pleasant light fruit presence. The flavor was highly hopped and bright like the aroma.. pine and juicy grapefruit bitterness above a sweet, toasty caramel base.. short-ish finish of caramel and a hard-to-identify bitterness. Sweet, smooth base on the palate with rather high bitterness surrounding.. OK balance. Nice brew! RAYBOY01 (2011) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 8, 2007
Pours a dark amber color with a moderate white head. The nose is pretty insubstantial...lightly roasted caramel/toffee malts. The flavor likewise is fairly light...caramel sweetness and very light hop bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel was pretty watery and thin. Draught, 3-12-07 at Downers Grove. I’m not a huge fan of Ambers so far, but found this one less unfulfilling than most. Dark golden amber in appearance with minimal off-white head. Aroma is slightly grassy with a balance of hops and grains. Same thing in the flavor. Hops are light handed and malt is evident but not rich. Served fairly warm and had a nice almost cask-like mouth feel. Light to medium in body.
