Tap in Palatine. Pours hazy yellow with a medium, fizzy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, hay), no hops, huge banana nose, and citrus notes. Flavor is malt and sweet, candied bananas, and citrus notes. Light body and carbonation, low warmth, and a dry finish. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2007
On tap at Emmett’s - West Dundee. Poured a hazy medium golden with a well-retained cap of white head. Aroma was quite strong with grilled bananas and bubble-gummy sweetness.. hints of smoke and corn give a odd, but interesting character to it. Very sweet and toasty flavor with tangy banana and candy notes.. rather long, tart banana finish. Light-medium bodied.. very sweet with a decent mouthfeel. thedm (6279) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 27, 2008
This draft brew from the ale house poured a small sized head of foamy fine to large sized long lasting white colored bubbles that left behind a semi-opaque dark yellow orange colored body with very good carbonation . The aroma was mild with floral malty notes. The mouth feel was mildly tingly at the start and very mellow in the finish. The flavor was thin missing the typical banana notes and favored the hops. This has a good looking hefe pour, a cloudy straw body with a tall sustained head. The aroma is bananas with (too much?) wheat, a hint of clove, and a zing of lemon. I thought the mouthfeel was more that of an American wheat than a German wheat, the carbonation a touch too harsh. The flavor had too much of the wheat flake to it, but aged bananas, spices, and a mild citric tartness grow in the taste as you continue drinking. Not a bad brew for the warmer days ahead.badgerben (5254) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - OCT 20, 2005

Hazy yellow color with a small head. Slight aroma of bananas. That banana really comes out strong in the taste, coupled with traditional wheat and yeast. Not really dry or sweet, but nicely balanced in the middle. Quite a nice little hefe!

On tap at the Downer’s Grove brewpub. Presented in a logo weizen glass with a cloudy orange/golden hue, a medium white head, and spotty lacing. The aroma was light grain, ripe banana, and spices. The flavor was these with a more pronounced clove note, subtle sweetness and a little dryness in the finish. A more subdued version than previous years, but still very sessionable. Draft at Emmett’s, Downers Grove. They’d just put this on when I visited May 18, and ja, it’s pretty fresh. Very cloudy, almost dark yellow in a tall weizen glass. After frothing up under the tap, settles to a behaved, meringue-type head, with a lemony weizen smell. No need for a lemon slice on this one. Taste offers soft wheat texture, coriander traces, and that citrus zest, but it’s hit hard by banana and bubblegum. I’ll put that down to it’s being new; who knows how old the imported hefes I’d judge as "to style" were. Turns orangey toward the finish. Not bad. Would hope there are extra kegs mellowing out to sample later. robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 5, 2005
Honey Haze Coloring with White Ring. Belgian Yeast, Coriander Aroma. Citrusy Notes, Banana, Belgian Yeast and a Light Wheat Aftertaste. Smooth Mouthfeel. Quite Nice. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 18, 2011
Draft. HUGE candy banana aroma here... way too much of that. Flavor tones that down a tad and is quite well balanced and attenuated, beautifully dry, complex hefe flavor, has all the right players, bit of burnt rubber, medium banana, love the dryness. Great body, dry and well attenuated. Unfortunately the overly phenolic and estery aroma really detracts from the drinking experience. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 8, 2009
On tap at the brewery in W. Dundee- poured a bright hazey yellow with a big fluffhead. Instant aroma of bananna, yeast and lots of wheat. Taste was rich and refresing at the same time, ecspecially on scorcher like today. Little spice in the finish with some noticeable clove.
