Dark brown with a medium sized medium lasting white creamy head. Nose is hops and grapefruit with just a bit of malts going through. This pours a mahogany body with a creamy beige head that thickly laces the glass. The first hit on the aroma is from a generous northwestern hopping with pine and grapefruit coming through. The malt aroma that does manage to escape is roasted and nutty. Medium-bodied, it delivers an earthy, roasted malt flavor with plenty of hop bitterness. The finish is a roasted bitterness. Palatine location. Not an Irish Ale by any means - it’s more like a cross between an ESB and a brown. It smells like a stable. Taste does a 180 from the aroma - nice, crisp, strong and nutty bite. There’s an incredible spicy quality about this that is followed-up by bittering agents. This is a well done session ale.
