Draft at Downers Grove. Pours a dark drown that lightens to a copper color around the edges of the glass. Head is moderate in size but sticks around with an off-white color that darkens as you swirl it. Aroma is reminiscent of their pale ale but with an added sweet malt aspect. The aroma and the taste tie together as this beer has a nice clean hop profile but a surprising sweet malty body. Smooth and clean with a nice lingering bitterness. The bartender referred to this as a "chocolate dipped pale ale" I can buy that, and it was pretty good I could drink it all day. SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 1, 2006
Dark brown with a medium sized medium lasting white creamy head. Nose is hops and grapefruit with just a bit of malts going through. The taste is great, malty creamy with just a bit of chocolate kind of roasted all underneath a nice blanket of grapefruity hops. Very good. sickboy79 (66) - USA - JUL 24, 2010
Big fan of this one. It’s a mix of a nice Pale Ale with a hint of brown ale mixed in. It has a wonderful hop aroma and flavor with some malty sweetness.
