Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor’s Island, 6/19/10

Aroma: The nose is floral and citrus hops, some earth, caramel, and crystal malts

Appearance: It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium head

Flavor: The taste has some malty sweetness that is balanced by decent hop presence

Palate: The body is light-medium with a slightly metallic mouthfeel

Overall Impression:
This was a decent Amber beer overall. The flavor if this one is a bit muddled, and it could have been better, but it was drinkable.

Brown/amber and clear with very little head. Light malty aroma, some bready and caramel notes. Light bitterness but not much, malty and smooth. Easy drinking.

(Rating #3092)

Part of a sampler at brewpub. I found all the brews to be better than average though I don’t remember specifics for most of them. It is worth mentioning that the sampler here is very generous with glasses that are big enough to really give you enough to form an opinion.

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. Not bad. Poured medium amber with a fluffy, white head. Quite earthy in aroma and flavor with moderate caramel sweetness.

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Tap at Empire. Pours a medium to deep amber - slight haze, ok head. Aroma is earthy floral hops, light citrus, some orange notes, medium caramel and lightly sharp crystal. Flavor is caramel, some fruity raisin, grassy and flowery hops, some citrus and earthiness- a bit harsh bittering and cohumulone in the end. Still, not too bad.

From tap at Union Ale. Pours dark deep orange, clear, and with a small tan head. Aroma is mild roasted malty. Crisp hoppy, peachy and slight tea like fruity. Bitter and slight citric flavoured. Dry and hoppy into a medium dry finish with a nice fruity note coming through.

On tap at Dino BBQ. Pours a clear light orange with a thin white head. Caramel, sour cardboard, bitter corn. Cat pee, acrid bitterness, and a weird sour flavor. Really gross, hard to drink, and nearly induced vomiting.

Deep and glassy ruby red look with a tinge of orange. Clear. Sparse head, spotty lace.

The smell is toasted malts with some light caramel notes. Sweeter honey and light butterscotch flavors. Not overwhelming but good.

The taste is sweet butterscotch on the front of the tongue (ringwood?). Some thicker barley in the taste, plus hints of mild dark chocolate and caramel. Very rich and well-balanced. Hint of sour apple on the tail end. Slight bitter hop.

A little sandpapery in the feel. Slightly bubbly. Has a bite on the way down. Not mind-blowing, but a good, solid brew.

A good cask for the style. Peachy colour, with some lace and white head. Average mouthfeel, flavourful and a bit fruity.
