FCBF 09. A hazy golden ale with a small head. Some sweet malt. Some hops. Seems like the rest tonight.

FCBF 09. Hazy orange appearance. Fruity and hoppy aromas wafted out of this. Decent, reminded me quite a bit of Rohrbach’s style with the grainy, nutty palate.

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2008
Sampled at the brewpub. AU15/08.

App.: Clear amber with remnants of an off-white head. Aroma: Rum-like – light brown sugar, slightly woody and nutty, a bit fruity. Palate: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Flav.: Brown sugar, nuts, alcohol, wood, vague fruitiness, again like rum; almost dry with some alcohol and a little bitterness.

Tasty.

Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 11, 2008
In short: A basic but surprisingly drinkable Amber ale
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear copper body with an off-white ring of foam
In long: Timid nose. Taste is basic but pleasant caramelized malts with some woody notes. As drinkable as it is forgettable. I guess this is as good as one can expect from a one-size-fits-all brewpub Amber Ale considering that the Amber Ale style carries as much prestige as a hobo wardrobe.

Lubiere (13771) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 15, 2007
A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin creamy white head. A light hoppy caramel aroma. In mouth, a rather weak pale ale with no malts and too much hops, veering on metallic. On tap at Empire, Nov. 17 2007.

Ritterkreuz (179) - Seneca Falls, New York, USA - SEP 2, 2007
Empire is bringing this one back from retirement as I had a sample at the New York State Fair today. Fairly average for the style.

BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2004
Draught ’02: Dark, filtered amber with a white head. Has some nice caramel and matly notes, balanced by the hop bitterness. Pretty thin body. Enjoyed lots of this back a few years ago, but was not their best.

2.7
joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 4, 2003
Sampled at the Rochester location. Dark amber. Solid white head. Light, malty aroma. Thin-medium body. Some malt & caramel character. Mild-moderately bitter.

jercraigs (10303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 2, 2003
November 2000, Buffalo, Nice... Kind of fruity like a pale ale. An enjoyable drink with a good balance but not jump out of your set exciting.

2.4
daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2002
Dark orange color. Burnt hoppy body. Better than most amber ales.
