4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma: Floral and citrus hops overwhelming.
Appearance: Clear dark red with a thick tan head that leaves lots of lacing.
Taste: Medium sweetness balanced by a light bitterness that balances nicely, but doesn’t overwhelm.
Palate: Medium-full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long soft finish.
Overall: This one caught me off guard because it sets up to be a strong, bitter beer but it’s really well balanced and even handed. The hops and flavors are there, but they’re not overwhelming, and the malty sweetness is there, but it’s not so saccharine as to be offensive. This is a really well designed beer that I would seek out again next year!
Bottle. Copper amber color. Floral hops, caramal malt, toffee, bubblegum. Medium body. Good hop and malt balance. Creamy texture. Bitter finish. But smooth and enjoyable. Itzjerm (3126) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - OCT 30, 2017

Lovely, rich amber body with a lush, creamy caramel head. Easy hop nose wafts gently across a soft caramel malt body. On the palate this one follows through with easy hops and a caramel backbone. Tannins intermingle with the mineral character to contribute and interesting complexity. r464 (2372) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 27, 2017
Balanced and full, with a nice caramel malty nutty flavor that has enough hops and bitterness to complement it. Not heavy, but still strong. djd07 (15547) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 23, 2017

Pours amber and translucent with a tanhead with an aroma of sweet hopped malt. Tastes of malt and booze with a nice hop finish with mild bitterness. It's rich, slightly sweet malt. It's mostly full bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very well balanced and very good. bwy (100) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2017
Strong malt backbone but at the same time a bitter taste. Leaves an interesting aftertaste that was not always simple.

Deep amber, reddish pour with thick foam. Rich, hoppy aroma with a strong caramel malt backbone. The taste is more balanced, but the finish is definately bitter. The 8.0% ABV probably contributes to this. Certainly rich and a well-blended variation of a pale ale. One of Great Lakes’ stronger offerings.
