COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boris is a jet black colour with an off-white head. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee. The flavour starts like espresso then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramel malt flavors. Clean and crisp, full- bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel.

On tap feral! Pours a jet black with a tanned head. Roasted coffee, cocoa and piney hops in the nose. Taste is incredibly smooth. Like a mocha bomb exploding on the palate. Loads of dark chocolate and espresso. Thick mouth feel. 11.5%...what alcohol? Hidden so well. Definitely worth the wait. Awesome beer!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Deep black, cola head. Aromas of rich dark chocolate, some coffee, ester and grog. Big rich flavours, rummy alcohol, dark chocolate, espresso, roasted malts, touch ester, caramel malts and a bitter hop backing. Magnificent beer.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2017 Bottle. Viscous, good head, bright and hoppy, fair carbonation, slightly bitter finish. In its favour: availability, consistency and value for money.

On tap at The Union Hotel, Newtown. Pours a jet black with a beige head. Aroma: malt, coffee, dark chocolate, spicy notes. Taste: malt, brown sugar, coffee, bitter cocoa. Mild funkiness. Mild citrus flavours. Mild to moderate bitterness. Creamy texture. Not particularly captivating, may have been just a bad batch or old keg, will definitely try again but was not particularly enthralled by this beer.

Bottle at Slow Beer, Fitzroy, Melbourne. Poured almost black with a round bubbly off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, light coffee, dark chocolate. The flavour is liqourice bitter with a smooth, rich, oily liquorice malt, alcoholic, floral hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Full to medium bodied with flat carbonation. Lovely aroma but the liquorice and alcohol were present well into the finish and the lingering bitterness was not so great.

Deep dark brown colour with big dirty coffee brown head. Nose of malt, coffee and light fortified wine. Bold tar and molasses, burnt sugar upfront. Full of roasted malts and feint smokey chocolate toffee treacle flavours. Thick oily texture. Sturdy body. Super smooth. Sweet with some bitterness at the end. Very nice.

BOTTLE. Oil black pour with thick mocha head.. Thick burnt malty nose with oats & almost a betadine touch at the back.. Dark malt base, creamy texture leads to coffee vibes & dark booze warmth.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out rich roasted malt upfront, with a fairly prominent espresso quality and some light toasted caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with espresso and roasted malt upfront, low-medium sweetness, and a cocoa-y dry and roasty finish. Medium-bodied for the style. Well-rounded and robust. Excellent.

Dark brown, inky body with no head. Has a sweet, molasses aroma with a touch of creosote. Soft body. On the palate, has dark brown sugars, light fruitiness. Sweet finish, again with nice sticky sugars.
