COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

0.33l bottle. Orangish dark brown body, quickly disappearing light brown head. Aroma of reisins, plums, banana, some spices and champagne, maybe some chocolate as well. Lots of banana, caramel and reisins in the flavor with notes of champagne and some grassy hoppyness. Warming alcohol, but not harsh at all. Wonderful beer.

0.33l bottle from rewe in lörrach. pours a cloudy dark chestnut with a medium off’white head. mild aroma of raisins, dried prunes, figs, not much alcohol in the nose. flavour of cherries, wild berries, vanilla, coffee, alcohol-soaked fruit cake, bourbon. alcohol is definitely present but not overwhelming considering the abv.

Aventinus Eisbock pours a dark brown color with a minimal tan head. The dense and fruity bouquet is brimming with ripe banana, backed by plums, prunes, as well as molasses and develops a slight savory note over time, while the clove note is subdued compared to the Aventinus this brew is derived from. The attack characterized is sweet, lightly roasty malts, caramel, as well as chocolate and is followed by a full-bodied mid-palate of brown bananas, dark fruits, and spices, although again with a surprisingly subdued note of cloves. The hop bitterness rises during the rich caramel finish with a light coffee note, in which the warmth from the alcohol is impressively well hidden for a brew that weighs in at 12% ABV. The thick, rich, yet smooth and surprisingly fizzy texture makes for an amazingly pleasant mouthfeel. Although whether the already great Aventinus benefits from the eisbock treatment certainly is a matter of taste, this big brew undoubtedly is a work of art worthy of praise.

Pours brown with a full beige head that recedes slowly. The nose isn’t boozy at all, but is is sweet. Rather powerful, its very heavy in caramel and raisin, has some grape, fig, and hints of wheat. The taste remains sweet, but now I’ve found the alcohol flavors. And not very surprising, they’re pretty potent. Cherry is the main compliment here, with raisin, caramel, and plum in support as well. Alcohol and cherry aftertaste. Full bodied, with a thick, syrupy texture, and being more soft in carbonation. The alcohol content becomes apparent almost instantly with this one. Overall, this tastes very good but caution should be exercised. I wouldn’t want to drink more than one of these or at the end of the night.

Barwa brunatna, piana niska.

Bottle. This has tremendous aroma of berries, cloves and banana soaked in bourbon. The head lasts through the whole glass, topping a body of deep garnet.

11.2 oz. bottle. AROMA: Scent of smoked gouda, caramel, and alcohol. APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque, dark brown with a tan head that dissipates quickly. TASTE: Very sweet with undertones of salt. Flavor of raisins is quite predominant, with a little bit of bubble gum on the back end. PALATE: Full bodied with a creamy texture. Carbonation is a bit lively. Finish is long and sweet. OVERALL: I believe that this is the first Eisbock brew that I’ve tried, and I have to say, I am quite impressed. The only negative thing I can say is that it is very sweet (even when it is ice cold), so it might be difficult to have more than one at a time. But that one will be oh so good!!

Barwa soku ze sliwek. Bardzo ladna piana, drobna i gesta. W aromacie glównie sliwki i nuty chlebowe. W smaku dochodzi delikatna karmelowa slodycz, szlachetny alkohol delikatnie wyczuwalny, absolutnie to nie przeszkadza. Bardzo dobre piwo.

well this is delightful and meets our heightened expectations. It has a lovely plummy sour smell with a pleasant whiff of alcohol very present. The appearance is a rich mahogany purple that looks like a dark Belgian. The is a whizz bang punch of plums, sweet yeast, some malt, and an almost red wine like savory finish. It’ll make you nibble like a bunny. Very very good stuff, wish it wasn’t 6 bucks a bottle or I’d drink it all the time. Good for a pre Jackbox cook sesh with some Best Show after a 10 mile urban hike.
