4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this one on tap yesterday, finally. Super tastey beer. Very unique. Bright hazey golden colour with a decent sized fluffhead. Aroma is instant hops. One of the most aromatic beers I’ve had in a long time. Super aromatic, fresh and fruity, lots of fruit in fact. Very tropical. TAste is really not that hoppy. As a matter of fact, there is quite a bit of noticeable candi sugar throughou this beer. Hops are present, but concealed well in the sweetness. IF you can picture a sticky fresh hop lightly covered in sugar. Very astringent, mouthfeel. Creamy. Really fantastic beer.
maybe mine was old? i’ve some to expect great things from CW, and this beer was booooooring. just lifeless. definitely nothing offensive, but everything from the body to the aroma and flavor was understated. " northropfrye (3623) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 5, 2014
Initially a hoppy aroma but also a bit harsh and pissy. Taste falls flat in comparison. Not a lot going on here but passable. cards04 (2809) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 5, 2014
Kind of underwhelming. Pours a golden with nice white head. Aromas are bitter hops. This is thin and watery. Bitter but with a watery finish. BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - NOV 23, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at Muddy Waters. Mostly clear orange pour with a full pillowy white head. Perfumy floral nose with some citrus. Unbalanced taste - finishes pretty rough on the bitterness. Not bad overall. doubelknv3 (1093) - Illinois, USA - JUL 4, 2013

Tasted in 2010 (backlog). Gold in color with a decentsized white head. Aroma is of grain, heavy notes of dried grass and pepper. taste is of grain, a moderate hop bitterness, toast and sun baked grass. tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Bottle shared with Brigadier, thanks! Gold pour, white head, good retention/some lace. Aroma of citrus, watermelon, grassy hops, light cracker. Taste is lightly bitter, grass/citrus/watermelon(?) hops, cracker. Palate is soft, dry, light bitter finish. Super refreshing. Brigadier (3680) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - FEB 23, 2013

Thanks to cbfobes for sending this as part of a recent trade. I can’t wait to try the version from Lakefront as a contrast in the near future. Drinkable and with a fresh bitterness it brings interest to a cold winter evening.
Aroma / Appearance - Warm caramel colored liquid pours easily into the glass. An ivory head falls down like melting snow. Grapefruit, watermelon, and grassy hops brighten the air. Orange glaze tops off an inviting beer.
Flavor / Palate - Watermelon, grass, and woody resin hit the tongue with a single mission. Soon the bitterness rises up like drinking liquified oak trees. Eventually though it settles down into a nice drinking beer. I wish I could their stuff locally.
Bomber. Sugary fruit aroma with some hops. Amber with floating particles. Thin white head. Flavor is just not great. I’ve had probably 50 IPAs that taste like this but few that I’ve paid this much for. Contrary to the aroma, fairly dry. May be lower in alcohol but we don’t know because they didn’t bother to list the ABV on the bottle. Such a pretty bottle too. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - FEB 13, 2013
22oz bottle from Mars’ Cheese Castle in Kenosha, WI. Pours a somewhat hazed, red-orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy and foamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a soapy lacing. Aroma is floral citruses and a bready caramel malt backing with a light sweetness. Touches of pine and a light herbal spice. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened, bready caramels with a decent floral hopping giving off some grapefruit notes. Finishes dry with a medium-light bitterness as well as a few lightly spiced pines and some doughy caramel. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a foamy, moderate carbonation. Overall, this wasn’t bad, but I was hoping for a lot more. Balanced and easy drinking at least.
