Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

Bottle. Thanks Benh. Pours black with a luxurious head head. Raisiny sweetness. Booze, chocolate and fudge. Thick, heavy and totally delicious.

Ciemna, nieduża piana, która dość szybko opada do firanki. Czarna, nieprzejrzysta barwa. W aromacie klasycznie - palone słody, kakao, kawa, likier karmelowy. W smaku półsłodkie, króluje gorzka czekolada i świeżo palona kawa, poza tym praliny, tytoń, na finiszu lukrecja, jagoda i rozgrzewający alkohol. Goryczka średnia do wysokiej, palona. W odbiorze dość szorstkie, popiołowe, nisko wysycone, wyklejające, z bardzo przyjemnym, pełnym, oleistym, dość gęstym body.
Klasyczny RIS, mocno palony, treściwy, bardziej słodki niż wytrawny, ale z solidną goryczką i ładnie ułożonym alkoholem. Brakuje mi tylko nieco intensywniejszego aromatu.

Shared bottle. Pitch black beer with small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, cocoa, light coffee and roasted malts, notes of molasses. Taste is medium to heavy sweet, medium+ bitter, dark chocolate, cocoa, notes of dried dark fruits, light coffee, licorice, roasty. Full body, oily, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Long chocolate finish. Slightly better than BORIS - really full, dense and tasty. Excellent.

anstei (2275) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - JUL 7, 2017
Bottle from Erzbierschof back in the days, sometime 2015. Pours pitch black. Aroma is soy sauce, green pepper, roasted malts. Body is heavy, quite salty, a bit boozy. Soft carbonation. Didn’t quite end up as I hoped it would be, but it delivers the punch. A destroyer alright.

MarcoBasile (432) - DENMARK - JUN 28, 2017
Pours pitch black and gloopy. Tan head that fades rather quickly. Aroma of toasted malts, bitter espresso beans, coffee, vanilla, brown sugar and caramelized malt. Taste is sweet, mildly roasty, dark chocolate, vanilla beans and cocoa nibs. Very sticky on the lips. It gets a lot more roasty towards the aftertatse. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation.

andrepintado (3416) - Lisbon, PORTUGAL - JUN 25, 2017
Bottle. Dark dark color. Good looking thin brown head. Taste is medium bitter, light to medium sweet. Medium body. Quite silky. Aroma and flavour is chocolate, coffee, chili, toffee, nutty, alcohol.

tlind2 (1732) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 22, 2017
Bottle. Black color, chestnut brown head. Beautiful, complex aroma with licorice and chocolate. Superbly smooth, long flavor that follows the aroma and adds espresso and lingering, juicy malts. Very full body, medium-light carbonation. Beautiful!

Capa (3304) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - JUN 20, 2017
As black as the void of space the dark beige head. Intense roasted coffee beans, bittersweet dark chocolate, some black malt, molasses, light smoke. Full bodied and slick. Chewy. Ain’t no slouch.

tomekboniek (770) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUN 11, 2017
Butelka. Sporo beczki, czekolady gorzkiej, mlecznej. Wysoko wysycone. Nuta alkoholowa widoczna w aromacie jak i w smaku. Troszkę lepsze od Rocky Mountain Doris.

OminouSC2 (676) - Mora, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2017
Black color, large brown head. Aromas of chocolate, brownies, roasted malt, vanilla, caramel, oats and bread. Taste of roasted malt, herbs, bread, coffee, cacao, soy, tar and slight alcohol. The aromas differs quite a lot from the taste. Bitter finish. Solid.

Sarlacc83 (2287) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 27, 2017
Bottle. Thanks! A: It’s so black it couldn’t be any more black. Mocha head. Legs. N: Malted milk, cocoa, espresso, pine, ash, roast, some soy sauce, lots of peppercorns, molasses, earth. T: Very sweet and very bitter. M: Medium-heavy body, light alcohol burn, spritzy carbonation. O: Spicy and earthy stuff. Yet, somehow, despite the intensity of the sweetness and the bitterness, I don’t find that they mesh all that well and it gets hard to drink because of this factor.
