COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beware, this is a BIG beer. Brimming with luscious roasted coffee and chocolate malt flavours which are balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. If you’re feeling politically incorrect try it with your favourite cigar, or a dram of your best single malt whisky. Or, if your tooth is sweeter, why not jump in at the deep end with the most decadent dessert of all; half a bottle in a glass with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (beer geeks like us know it as the Imperial Stout Float). Or simply enjoy it on its own as a decadent dessert or night cap - the perfect winter warmer! If you don’t already know the history of Russian Imperial Stouts please check it out on the internet, it’s a good story. But remember, although based on that century-old classic style, this beer is a very modern interpretation, like all our beers!

TET (3033) - Kaarina, - MAY 18, 2012
Batch 39, BBE AUG/14. A black beer with a medium, dense and beautiful creamy, brown head. Aroma is great, stong chocolate and roastiness are nicely balanced, liquirice, some coffee and milky sourness. Taste is roasted, salt liquirice, some chocolate sweetness, herbal bitterness increase in the aftertaste and dries the mouth. Full bodied, smooth and very pleasant to drink. Very balanced IS with enough of nuancess, velvety smooth drinkability finished the pleasure.

Bottle from BeerMa. It’s been years, never rated. Jet black pour with a low tan head that creates good lacing. Dark roast aroma with plenty of chocolate, a dash of coffee and dark fruit. Very nice rich flavour, bitter dark chocolate with a surprising amount of dark berries, some soy, but so much rich bitter choc. Smooth feel that is quite hopped up in the backend. As good as I’d remembered it. Happy for the smaller more affordable bottle size.

colui72 (1029) - HONG KONG - JUN 24, 2017
Pours pitch black, medium tan head, excellent lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, smoke and chocolate. Taste gets the same idea, with the dark malts, chocolate, vanilla, prunes, notes of coffee. Moderate bitter, full body, slick feel, sticky, soft carbonation, long finish. Perfect example of a typical Russian ImpS, perfect taste and mouthfeel, great sipper!

Smells like your fave choc ice cream from that dodgy bloke who had those puppies - never tell dad remember! Tastes like dark chocolate with roasted coffee beans crushed in your partners hands as she contemplates why she's still with you. Looks like that time you drank too much Guinness, around the toilet bowl. BUT!! This is a SUPERIOR IMPS so get it in ya! Don't worry what other people say - "ooh, I get Wild West cowboy leather" - TRY IT YOURSELF! Yeeeeeha!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an intensely black color with dark tan head that coats the glass and lingers. Big roasty chocolatey aroma. Super thick intensely chocolatey roasty, almost smokey...just rich and lingering. Small pour are perfect, a nice winter sipper. Notes: on tap at Mikkeller Bar LA

Aus der Flasche gekauft 2012-04 getrunken 2016-11. Ja das ist ein feines Stout. Ein recht leichtes, aber lecker mit schöne Kaffeenote. Schön süffig.

GIJOE (1205) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAY 28, 2017
Pours black as liquid coal. Foamy cappuccino head, moderate lacing. Nose is rich, decadent roasted malts with notes of nougat, coffee, chocolate, nuts, hints of dried fruits. Taste is thick, rich malty sweetness. Kind of a dessert drink, but there are great bitter undertones that bring to mind dark chocolate. Full-bodied, delicious brew. Love it.

nearbeer (5421) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 8, 2017
500 ml. 10.0% appears to have been bottled in 2016. Jet pour has a spongy disc of foam. Aroma is bread, cocoa, blackstrap molasses, mineral water and a touch of blackberry. Flavors of dark toasted bread, soy, blackstrap, ash, berry, mild cherry and caramel. Medium-heavy body has smooth low-medium fizz and a decent balance.

4.2
gopherfan99 (1829) - Minnesota, USA - APR 28, 2017
Bottle; pours black with a brown head; aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, and hints of chocolate and licorice; taste is bittersweet with roasted malt, licorice, coffee, and some chocolate and dark fruit notes; finish is dry with some roasted malt and dark chocolate
