COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is a dry-bodied ale thats powerfully spicy with an earthy aroma. On the palate, peppery hops assert themselves early and often, with malt sweetness and a light biscuit flavor making a brief appearance before a long, complex and decisively bitter finish. There is one thing decidedly San Diego about this beer, and thats its aggressive dose of hops. 20th Anniversary Encore Series: Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA is brewed to enjoy fresh but true to its origin, ages especially well on a six-month long ocean voyage.

Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a dissipating white head. Aroma of hops, lemon and citrus. Flavour of citrusy hops, dry malt and some peachy notes. The bitter flavour dissolves into moderate sweetness and finishes dry, peppery, hoppy and a little fruity.

Tap at Js. Pours a deep orange/gold color with a finger of foam that lingers. Big peach nose with stone fruit and pine. Clean and crisp and lovely that lovely San Diego light body. Dank stone fruit as it warms. Smooth finish. So drinkable and the hops shine. Really nice.

It pours a cloudy orange with a whittish orange head. There are aromas of citrus, biscuit, and pepper. There are flavors highlight by sweet flavors and then bitterness. There are flavors of biscuit, citrus, pepper, and a slight bit or orange. There is also a bit of spiciness in the background. It has a moderate feel on the heavy side with moderate combination and a long lasting bitter finish. Overall, the balance is towards the hops but the malt background of biscuit makes this an extremely enjoyable beer.

8.9%ABV. Imperial IPA. Poured out gold. 8 SRM. Nose is malty, funky with dried urine. A preview of the malty palate that is to come at tasting. Warm orange juice in the nose. Allow it to come to room temperature some more and you start to get the aroma of a New York subway. Mouthfeel is full and soapy but not so much in the traditional sense. Palate has flavors of honey wheat toast, barley toast, juicy sweet with orange juice like character with a neat fuller biscuit, white bread toast. Hops are woody, bitter, incense. No fresh flavor profiles. Finish is woody, bitter. Goes on Favorites List!

22 oz bottle into a plastic hotel cup. Mostly clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, malt, floral notes, light tropical fruit. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, light malt, pine, light tropical fruit, hop oils. Medium body with a dry finish. Liked it more after it warmed up a bit.

Another awesome IPA by Stone. Reminiscent of the 10th anniversary. Deep orange yellow. Medium bitterness. Mild sweetness. Biscuit malty flavor. Lasting hoppy aroma. Easyish to drink, but higher ABV makes a take a few days to finish a bomber. Excellent.

8.9% Hazed orange, light creamy head. Spice orange herbal aroma caramel and toasted malts Taste reminds me of another brand of beer that is not stones. Not there usual hops, I know. Must be the kent goldings. I like this different hop taste to an ipa, goldings always are good though. Soft beer, malty with a spice sting, crisp zesty finish. Peppery. Orange, light caramel malts, marris otter?? Actually a pretty peppery predominant beer overall in hop profile. Foamy, bright clean.

Interesting aroma of white pepper, papaya, and a honey like malt background. Earthy and dank. Very nice looking shiny orange color with a bright white cap of foam that stays for a long time. The taste is also very peppery and dank with an off-putting snap pea flavor in the aftertaste. Definitely hoppy, but this is a weird mixture of hops. The palate is full and lightly carbonated, very good for the style. I liked everything about this beer except the taste, which is really the most important thing. I love Stone, but Im not sure about their Anniversary Encore Series. I have tried a few that are not all that impressive.
