Bottled from the monastery, tasted side by side with a regular Quadrupel and Oak Aged batch #9. Ruby colored, small head. The port notes emerge immediately pouring it into the glass, very powerful, fruity, oak, combined with all the other features that are already in a normal Quadrupel, absolutely fantastic. Very complex yet smooth fruity flavor, oak, raisins, malts. Lasting fruity finish. By far the best Oak Aged i’ve had so far, immensely complex, yet very smooth and balanced. Please, make this version again!
Pours rather ear, dark amber. Small white head. Smell is very portorized, sweet , oak. Taste is sharp, intense, woody, dry oak, bit buttery ( no dyacethyl !) ChewyBeer (371) - SOUTH AFRICA - FEB 7, 2017

Pours amber, slight hazy with whitish head. Bunch of dark fruits in the aroma, dates, raisins, plums, figs, plus red wine, soaked oak, belgian yeast characteristics from the fruity esters and kinda mead notes. Very complex flavour that is just the same of the nose. In the back end I got some tannins bitterness which balances nicely, and a slightly dry finish asking for another sip. Smooth, medium to full body and almost an oily texture mouthfeel. This is huge! Erzengel (8624) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 11, 2016
Great round and intense beginning. Mild, chocolate, plums, raisins. The wood is light, intense, round and mild. Lots of stick plums, mild and round. Intense deep fruity mild brew. Nice! Zlotta (3200) - Hagen / Bonn, GERMANY - DEC 10, 2016
Sampled from 0.375 l bottle. Clear, dark brownish amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey, vanilla and some raisins. Moderately sweet, malty taste of caramel, honey, lots of vanilla and some raisins, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, moderately warming finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty, incredibly round.
