On tap dry "tea’d" at better weather fest. Aroma of belgian phenols and oolong tea with raisins, plums, brown sugar, cherries. App: clearish auburn. taste is is sweet but not super quad sweet. The tea actually has an astringent tongue drying aspect that really kicks this up. palate is thick but that tea helps here again. I would love to find this again but I have a feeling it was a one off.
Hazy copper color with an off-white head. Nose is quite boozy and almost sour. Actually, it is sour. Some dark fruits, mostly raisins, with a bit of cherry in there, too. Some toffee and caramel maltiness serve as the base. The flavor has a mild heat to it along with the caramel malt sweetness. Definitely tart, mildly acetic, with some fruit notes of raisin, cherry, and banana. Really full feel on the palate. beersearcher (2383) - Glendale, California, USA - FEB 19, 2011

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a hazed deep amber-copper body with a tan head that lasts. Aromas of dark fruits, plums, yeast, brandy, caramel, raisins, cherry, and toffee. Flavors of plums, bitter, toffee, raisins, marmalade, alcohol and fruity esters. Big alcohol on the finish. Big but not heavy. A bit of lingering bitterness. Can’t wait for the barrel aged version.
