Review #150 Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a cervoise goblet. A: Pours a jet black with a very dark brown bubbly head. Dissipates into thin film that leaves a great lace down the glass. S: Big coffee upfront with a nice sweet chocolate. Roasted malts and a nice toasted cracker taste. T: Again with the coffee and I love it. Coffee grounds with a semi-sweet bakers chocolate and toasted malt throughout the middle. There is a little bitterness from the hops at the backend, but it finishes very sweet. M: Very smooth and delectably creamy on the finish. Little bitter chocolate on the finish that mixes with the coffee. Perfectly carbed as well. O: Why must these be so good and only sold through the fall? Just like KBS this is an amazing beer and I canít wait two weeks until the CBS release. Iíll just leave it at the notes I made when I was finished. "Yeah, awesome." Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-18-2011

Pours dark with medium head. Aroma: a clear domination of coffee followed by chocolate. Taste: again coffee and chocolate, with medium body. ABV well hidden, even refreshing for a stout and highly drinkable.

Pitch black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, cacao, burnt caramel and toasted malt. Beautiful intense mocha flavour with a bitter chocolate coffee finish. A legendary beer that lives up to the hype. Extremely enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is one of the very best beers ever. Very definite coffee flavor and therefore may not appeal to those who are not coffee drinkers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

335 ml bottle from Kill The Cat, Brick Lane, London, UK. It pours dark brown with a medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma is particular, chocolate, toffee, caramel, coffee, roasted malts, marshmallows. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Strong alcohol notes for the ABV %. Body is full, carbonation is fine. Overall not liked it so much, my expectations were much higher!

Light to medium sweet, light to medium dry bitter spicy ; light warming background ; nice balance. Medium good body, light to medium texture, soft carbonation, coffee spicy lasting strong finish. Black coloured ale with a nice espresso like head. Aroma: chocolate, roast, coffee beans and some mocha. Taste: roasted malts, milk chocolate, some coffee and some sweetness with some nice amount of bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel with average carbonation.

Well worth the lofty rep. A great balance of fresh chocolate / roast and firm hops which makes for an elegant drink with power (make sense). If anything plays under its 8.5% in terms of palate weight but the beer is better off for it. A line of sweet stones to finish.

Aroma is intense coffee and chocolate, reminds me Peche Mortel. Dark brown with a small tan head. Flavour is rich dark chocolate, coffee and molasses with a bitter dark roasty finish - just a touch of booze. Medium body, not quite as full as Iíd hoped, soft carbonation, but slightly sharp. Overall a terrific beer, comes up a little short compared to other world class imperial stouts though. Couldnít find a bottling date but this one was at least 3-4 years old.

Piana obfita, średnie i duże oczka, opada szybko. Kolor czarny nieprzejrzysty. Aromat, polonosc, słodycz, czekolada i kawa.

Had on tap & from bottles, just had 1 that was bottled on 12/3/2015. It was still great, however the coffee had fallen off, so it became regular chocolate cake. What a downside. I never got a ton of coffee fresh, but it always has a nice level of roast to chocolate. Both fresh & aged it had a great aroma & mouthfeel. Gorgeous mocha head & appropriate lacing.
