An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2013 So, I have not rated a beer in a long time, but I have found my new favorite beer. Clear golden, dark fruits, vanilla, citrus hops, little toffee, little white grape.

Draft at Birdsall House. Rich and sweet, like a good BW ought to be - caramel, vanilla, tobacco, a little hop bite in the finish. Lightly boozy aroma. Strong, varied texture on the palate.

Bottle from 2017. Pours a lightly hazy golden yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet malts, honey, caramel, wood, some light fruity esters, vanilla, toasted biscuit, alcohol. Flavors were loaded with much of the same: Sweet maltiness with wooden barrel, alcohol, funky leather, fruit cake, treacle toffee, and some light bitterness. Sticky, super full-bodied mouthfeel. Alcohol was reasonably restrained. Pretty drinkable and yet an intense beer experience. Excellent!

Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy gold with minimal white head. Faint sweet biscuity aroma. Heavily sweet with mild bitterness. Flavors of caramel, biscuits, floral notes, honey. Definitely different tasting that a barleywine. Interesting well done sipping beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

strong malt aromas. gold and clear in color with fast fading head. taste is malty, a little boozy, notes of caramel and vanilla

2015 bomber. Hazy dark blonde pour with a thin head that quickly dissapates. Bourbon, toffee and caramel on the nose. No hops whatsoever. Flavor is a heavy bourbon barrel, caramel, toffee bomb. Medium to medium heavy body. Not too sweet, the tannins from the barrel and minimal hop bitterness keep this from getting cloyingly sweet. Stunning beer that I am assuming will get no better. Drink up or send them to me!

2016 bottle that I've been sitting on for a while. Honey colored, still some good head, little lacing. Mild boozy bourbon notes, wood and vanilla. Sweet toffee and pear and candies sugar. Some wheat yeast gives a twang with some mild hoppiness. A lot going on in this one and it's crazy well put together. Love it.
