AKA Holiday Ale
AKA Holiday Leftover Ale
AKA Brown Sugar Substitute

This sad holiday season we didnt have the brewing capacity to make our favorite seasonal brew, the widely feared BrownShugga Ale. You see we had a couple of really good years (thank you very much) and so heading into this season while we are awaiting the January delivery of a new brewhouse we are jammin along brewing 80 barrels of IPA and PILS and such every 3 hours. A couple of months back we realized that since we can only brew a mere 60 barrels of Shugga every 5 hours, that we were seriously screwed. For every case of Shugga brewed, wed short 3 cases of our favorite daily beers. Its a drag. This year, we brewed something that we think is also cool and brews more like our daily brews. The new brewhouse will help insure this kind of failure never happens again. Its a mess that we can not brew our BrownShugga this year and we suck for not doing it. There is nothing cool about screwing this up this badly and we know it. Maybe we can sue our own sorry selves. There is no joy in our hearts this holiday and the best we can hope for is a quick and merciful end. F*@& us. This totally blows. Whatever. We freaking munch moldy donkey butt and we just want it to be all over...
So this substitute beer is a Cereal Medley of Barley, Rye, Wheat, and Oats. Full of complexishness from the 4 grains, and weighing in at 8% abv, Then joyously dry-hopped for that big aroma and resinous hop flavor.

Remember back in the day when you would fall down the basement stairs drunk as shit at 4AM and be 100% convinced that you never woke your parents? Well, I just fell down the stairs and once again I am 100% convinced that they never heard because they live 30km away - still got the magic!

I feel great knowing that I pretty much bought the entire city supply and drank it all to myself - E-town crew loves me for this and so do I. Drink 72 beers and barely saved one for review because it was so god damn good. Make that 2 - I just drank the last surviving bottle on Earth that I left hanging around for my own funny time reminder. And yea, it still was AWESOME. So awesome. Rare beer does taste better! LOL. Rating goes back to early December 2011 and its just short notes as it was pretty much impossible to review this as it was just pure joy to drink it... even as I drained the entire citys supply solo. tung: Piles of citrus - citrus that tears apart my mind on every freaking sip - oranges, rrgf, pine, grapefruit rind, cherry, floral greatness remeniscent ... how the hell is that spelt? - of fresh cut flowers, slight grain, honey, apricot, secretions of only the most heavenly of creatures, tropical fruits and soft malts. This beer has absolutely everything I want to smell. Hours... hours have been spent smelling this brewed treasure. Tasty bits: Aside from the outlandish amount of hops and citrus, sweetness and thickness there is a fuckload of malt backing this monster. Sweetness abounds. Pineapple flops around, pine goodness, peaches, lemon, mild caramel, something that might be spearmint, grapefruit, unique malt base darker than it normally is, orange, pepper, resin, light dose of brown sugar for the sweet base, aaaaaa soooo good! medium body that is supported both by the hop thickness and the healthy structure of yummo malts. Perfection. Find me another ASA that beats this and I will marry your daughter that resembles an ugly donkey.

Big beer. Aromas were malty but with slight confusion. Its kind of all over the place. Hop bill was good with a nice finish. Full bodied and somewhat weighty.

Pours a clean golden colour with a little orange hue. Nice head, almost creamy, long lasting with good lacing. Smells like an Imperial IPA with the grassy hops, caramel malts and citrus notes. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and smooth, with the alcohol well-hidden. Milder taste of citrus fruits with the hops rounding things in the finish. A very smooth finish. Goes down too well.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2017 Colore dorato. Schiuma bianca, fine, cremosa e persistente. All?olfatto profumi di agrumi e frutti tropicali.

This is what I would call a light IPA. Though its not an IPA it gives you the crispy fruity hops and just the right amount malt . This beer is golden with a soft bitter citrusy after taste. This beer is dangerous as at 8% ABV it will creep up on you. A soft pine earthy aroma with a light yet fluffy head ,that gives it a nice smooth fizz. On a scale of 1 to 10 this beer is a solid 9.5 so far the best beer Ive had in 2016

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a clear bright orange color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is hop driven. The taste is hops and tropical fruit. An outstanding beer.

Tap at de Beurs Meppel. Served in a jar. Clear yellow colour with a small dense head. Aroma has citrus grapefruit and a slight sweetness. Decent ale like an ipa.

6er from the BO. Clear orange pour, medium white head. Aroma is sweet, quite malty, toasted cereals, brown sugar, with light fruit and grasses. Nice mouth feel, good carb. Medium bitter finish, light notes of pine and light fruit. Maltiness fades and it gets hoppier at the end. Interesting brew.

6-pack from LCBO. Beautiful deep orange pour with a lush cap of creamy foam on top. Grains are deeply present & add a nice complexity to this. Lots of sugar. Pronounced dry hops. Good stuff, if not a tad over rated in these parts.
