Bottle (exp Sep 2013, opened Dec 2012) AROMA:vanilla, resin, woody, cherries, cheese, APPEARANCE: brown, clear, frothy, minimal head, TASTE: medium sourness, medium bitterness, PALATE: full body, oily feel, lively, astringent, bitter, long finish, OVERALL: one of my favourites: beautiful balance of bitter and sour taste with a blend of vanilla and dark and dried fruit.

Chudwick (3363) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - NOV 16, 2017
33cl bottle best by 02/2018 - nose is esthery fruits. sip adds basement/leaf aromas, leather/tobacco and light cheese. flat-ish. ABV well hidden. I wonder how much better/worse this would be fresh. decent but not something I'd likely revisit. I won't turn down a free one that's for sure though.

It pours opaque mahogany with ruby highlights; the head is beige and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: caramel, figs, raisins, dark bread, alcohol, burnt sugar, and wood. The taste is medium sweet with a lightly bitter finish. The palate is full bodied, with medium carbonation (soft); the finish is long. Overall, a nice little addition to the Chouffe family.

This is an interesting beer. The spice and flavours remind me of a Christmas fruit cake.

Cartoonkhaki (1312) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 14, 2017
Deep rich brown with puffy head. Sweet stewed aroma of spice, honey malts. Body is light in syrup but still maintains a nice thick robust mouth. Lots of character dancing around in this beer. The alcohol I found to be subtle. Nice. . . . or should I say " N'ICE "

Cristobal37 (1230) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 14, 2017
Dark brown pour. Doughy bready aroma, as it warmed the spices and orange peel reveal themselves. Spicy malty brew. Doughy, the advertised spices are really not that pronounced. A really enjoyable Christmas beer, but not horribly complex.

BrewWhatIWant (294) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 9, 2017
Pours a hazy ruby-brown with a spotty offwhite head. Aroma is fruity. Taste is sweet with a long bitter finish. There are notes of chocolate, thyme, figs, liquorice, and a little butter. Light body with moderate carbonation. There’s warm alcohol that is pretty well integrated for 10%abv. The overall impression reminds me a little of Brio or if your from New England, Moxie.

ShaughnDolèzal (16) - - OCT 28, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2017 good beer all over. bit dissapointed in the head retention though. no roast flavours, nice herbal tones. pours dark brown with medium carbonation and light beige head.

330ml bottle pours deep brown with foamy tan head. Sweet aromas of brown sugar, toffee, stone fruit and yeast. Tastes of dark fruit, cherry, caramel malt, butter, molasses, roasted malt, bready yeast and spices. The 10% alc vol has a little bite and some porty notes, but is masked by the layered flavours and sweetness. Long finish with mild bitterness. Big, bold, dark Belgian Strong Ale. A regular in my fridge!

kathouse (1940) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - OCT 21, 2017
Lots of caramel and candied fruit from this amber beauty. The flavor and finish hide the alcohol well.
