Bathory's rating

4.4
Bathory (458) - Kverneland, - JAN 2, 2013
Pours an almost pitch black colour with a good tan head. Aroma of oak, roasted malts, whiskey, soyasauce and some vanilla and saltyness. Really good smell. Taste is so complex. The first thing that reveals itself is a massive caramel taste. Then the chocolate comes, together with nuts, licorice and oak. The finish contributes with a really smooth vanilla touch which raises the beer even further. Its obviously full bodied, with low carbonation and a oily mouthfeel. The bitterness in the fiinish is low, but its also notable to a certain extent. Overall this is a amazing piece of beer. Some may say its a bit out of balance, but I think this suits the beer well.

Shared by Craig, October 1, 2016. Thanks for this one. If anyone finds I have misplaced this rating, please let me know. Black beer, black, moderate smoke in the aroma. Roasted malt and lots of sugar, dry oak, some more whisky in the flavor. Great palate, thick and heavy. One of the best beers I had while in Britain.

danlo (3015) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2016
330ml bottle from Brewdog online store. Pours black in colour with a thin beige foam head and aroma of roast malt, molasses, dried fruits, chocolate & coffee, booze. Taste is dark malty, sweet, brown sugar, chocolate, roasted, coffee, nutty, with raisins and earthy whisky notes. Silky smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry warm boozy finish. Nice, very drinkable.

Bottle bbe 23.12.2016. Almost black with red hue. Head collapses fast. Aroma creamy, mämmi (Traditional Finnish dessert). Taste malty sweet, strong herbal bitterness, some roast and smokiness. Finishes with very long chocolate notes and smooth smokiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

SkillsFactory (739) - ITALY - MAR 13, 2016
Lotto 447, Best before 23/12/2016, aperta il 13/03/2016.

Appearance- Thick, creamy black with a pillowy light brown head. Not long lasting and little to no lacing. Aroma- Heavy malt, chocolate, soy sauce, slightly metallic, smoke. Flavor- Very sweet, almost cloying, molasses, wood, smoky but in an ashy kind of way, bitter finish.

This rating is done in memories of Mr. Ian Kilmister while listening to Bomber. The album is great as is the Beer.
