RUINING PALATES SINCE 2002
In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop, then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

So thrilled to get my hands on a bottle of this since Ruination is my top rated brew. Poured from a bomber that was chilled in a cooler while driven straight from CA to OK. I also poured a "regular" Ruination so I could A/B them. Pours a cloudy golden orange, a hue I would paint my walls. Obviously way more hops in the dry hop process. Very complex, very smooth, very awesome...however, believe it or not, I prefer the regular Ruination by a sliver of a hair. I do like the ABV and IBU of the 10th Anni, but lucky for me the normal Ruination wins in this A/B test. That said, Im thrilled to be enjoying the 10th Anni...its like they turned up the intensity level on this from the Ruination. Well done Stone, well done.

Gift bomber. Quiet pour with modest carbonation and a reserved aroma of citrus and pine. The beer is a golden orange colour with a white head and good lace. The taste is smooth and malty sweet with notes of caramel and hop dryness expanding into the middle. Hops are aggressive in the finish with hints of grapefruit and pine resin. Good mouthfeel throughout and a long warming alcohol glow at the very end. Good!

Bref, a tabasse bien.

650ml bottle. Pours a clear orange colour with a big frothy off-white head. Aroma of resin, pine, fruity, grapefruit, marmalade, malty, caramel, spicy, the taste is exactly all that too. Some sweetness with a lasting bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth. Alcohol has a warming feeling but its actually fairly well hidden when you consider the ABV. What an awesome brew, really nice.

Deep golden color with a moderate, dissipating canvas colored head. Huge aromas of orange citrus. Light pine, caramel, circus peanuts, grapefruit and toffee meander about in the nose as well. Full feel, with a light zip. Sweet pear and toasted malt in the front. Hops completely take over with citrus, pine and resin. A light burn on the tongue, not sure if its from the alcohol or the acidic hops. Finish is citric honey; and linger has pale malts and resin. 6/13

Aroma is piney and intense. Grapefruit, peach sweetness and resin. Taste is a lot of grapefruit and spruce coated in resin. Slight licorice feelings. A fair share of sweetness as well, almost peachy that undermines the bitterness. Hint of alcohol.

Bottle at home, from Kirsty for Christmas. Dark brown with a touch of red. Heavy consistency for the type.
