4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
At the festival in Worcester Ma. Ultra sweet tangerine, peach, orange, lemon, and cherry. Sour and sweet.. Near perfection.
Draft at The Farmers’ Cabinet in Philadelphia, PA.
Pours a cloudy, pale golden orange color with golden yellow edges and a half finger white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic chunks of lace left behind.
Musty, funky aroma that isn’t as vinegary as the other variations. Has more of a solvent like acetic presence and a stronger barrel/wood character than the other treatments. Lots of barnyard, cobweb and lactic funk followed by mustard seed and subtle fruit notes. Mostly funk and barrel in the nose.
On the fuller end of medium bodied with a strong tart, puckering presence that isn’t too acetic or harsh. Decent amount of sourness but it’s countered in the finish by the weird maple presence. Barrel is stronger in this treatment with lots of dry wood and sweet maple. Really odd counterpoint to sour acidity, citrus and light fruit. As it warms I’m picking up some caramel apple and other light fruit. Interesting but just a strange combination of flavors going on here. On tap at Farmers during beer week. Poured a straw gold color, Aromas and flavor of peach, tart lemons, wood, and very light maple or sugar. Tast as it warmed got awesome with loads of acidic fruits coming through. Interesting brew from Terry. This one was good but I prefered the white oak. Pouring at The Festival in Worcester. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Gorgeous aromas of pluots, funk and acid, tropical fruit and mango. Gentle sweetness leads into wood and maple. Soft and sweet, bright acid. Phenomenal. Standout of the day. Delicious. oteyj (2138) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 26, 2012
On tap at The Festival in Worcester, session 1. Light straw pour with ample frothy head. Maple, quenching lactic acid, pineapple, and fruit cocktail abound. Light body with a super dry acidic finish. This beer was another highlight of the fest for me. Awesome. jredmond (8626) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Draft at te festival with Andrew. Pours a deep hazy orange body with thick white head. Aroma is the freshest citrus fruits I’ve ever experienced in a beer. Mouthfeel is super refreshing and tart with notes of grapefruit, orange, apricot, tangerine, peach, sour cherry, lemonade and funk. Incredible. Thank you, terry. On tap at Farmer’s Cabinet. Pours a fairly-dark mahogany color with a short off-white head. The nose carries some lactic notes and a deep woodiness. Notes of cherry and earth. Flavor is fairly oaky with a bit of acidity. Slight dark fruits and mild cherry plus accompanying earthiness. Smooth and medium-bodied. Quite good.
