A strong, dry and spicy trappist ale. The product of a secondary fermentation lasting 5 weeks. This is a complex ale with a fruity aroma and a nice nuanced hop scent. It is soft and creamy in the mouth, with a bitter touch carried by the fruity aroma. An exceptional ale, with a great deal of finesse and elegance, and with a splendid long after taste.

Bit of a stealth beer this. Almost orangy straw yellow with an easy froth head that goes the distance. Beautiful penetrating nose of lemon rind, candy sugar, dried fruit and yeast. Dry in the mouth, it always seems more carbonated that I last remembered. Not at all off putting though.More dried fruit on first taste delivering a long warm bitterness with spice and hints of thyme and rosemary. Superb complexity and devlopment over the life of the pour. Just builds and builds as the 9.5% ABV comes into play. There’s a lightness of touch too with finesse and elegance but a penetrating stern strength too.So much balance and restraint. Really kicks the brain heart and palate into action. As far removed from ’sessionable as possible. And I like it that way.

Bottle brought back from Bruges. Pours golden with a big white frothy head. The taste is spicy with bread and hay. Tripels aren't my favorite syles of beer, but this is very good.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2017 The stuff dreams are made of. Delicate and spicy in flavor. Very complex. Pairs well with any medium meal of chicken or pork. An absolutely wonderful finish with no harshness. Smooth as hell. One for the bucket list.....

Hazy golden color with off-white head. Aroma is mostly yeasty with sugar notes and some hay. Taste starts sweet with candi sugar notes, continues with yeast character and finish is more bitter with earthy hay and wood notes. Medium body, medium plus carbonation. Overall it's a really well made tripel with well hidden ABV.

Beautiful beer, tight, sturdy head and lasts for ages. Pretty potent but the little apple skin hint hides it. Caramel smell but that might be me. Very consistent and carbonation is just right. Definitely recommend!

Pours cloudy golden-orange with a creamy white head. Citrus (a lot of orange peel) and spices dominate the aroma, along with typical belgian yeasts and malt. In mouth it's sweet but a lot less than expected, there's a certain winery dryness and a final bitterness that gives a sort of "elegance". It's one of those beers that hides its complexity very well and puts me in troubles when it's time to rate how much I like it.

Aroma: tyggegummi, banan. Fenolisk. Svakt tåkete øl med kraftig karbonering. Kraftig, vedvarende hvitt skum. Lett kropp. Smak av malt med brødskorpekarakter. Tørr avslutning.

Betta (19) - ITALY - SEP 23, 2017
primo amore. Biondo opalescente schiuma da 1 cm bianco purissimo, persistente, frizzante, palato pieno alcol ben coperto con finale amaro luppolato. Impegnativa.
