4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
2012 release of bourbon barrel-aged speedway stout. Aroma is thick with bourbon notes followed by a dark coffee and chocolate richness. The appearance is as dark as beers come with a thick mocha head that retreated much more slowly than expected for a 12% stout. The taste is very complex. Vanilla is a strong flavor but far and away the bourbon and coffee flavors are the centerpiece of the beer. Overall I love this beer. Bring friends to share a bottle with if you manage to get your hands on a bottle. It is a rich, thick beer that is best enjoyed slowly as it warms.
It is not thick enough. It is great on roast to coffee to barrel ratio but it seems too watery. Definitely classic in composition, but the mouthfeel is not sufficient. alexeyb (8) - LITHUANIA - SEP 12, 2017 does not count
Absolutely gorgeous, dark chocolate and coffee and the barrel takes your pants down. Must drink if you can. Fujimo2000 (183) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - AUG 20, 2017
Pours dark brown/black with lasting brown lacing. My favorite beer. Super smooth just a touch of bourbon. This is how a barrel aged stout is supposed to taste. llkc (2587) - århus, DENMARK - AUG 4, 2017

Shared bottle. Dark blackish pour, thick, tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, oak, bourbon, vanilla, molasses, chocolate. Complex flavor, huge palate density, notes of oak, vanilla, molasses, chocolate, bourbon, well hidden alcohol. Delicious! mezr (140) - California, USA - JUL 16, 2017
From the cask into a snifter. Black with a light brown head. Very complex aroma of roasted coffee and malts, dark fruit. Full body, smooth, warmth of oaky bourbon in the background. Very nice long bitter finish. Did I say complex?! This is a masterpiece. Tide (4060) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 24, 2017
Bottle from a friend. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, nuts, coffee, bourbon, oak, chocolate, licorice and a bit of dark fruits. Bitter finish with roasted malts, nuts, coffee, licorice, bourbon, oak and chocolate. Exquisite imperial stout. Borresteijn (7342) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 7, 2017
75cl Bottle sample at Potjepalooza. Black colour, dense beige-brown head. Aroma of hard-roasted malts, bourbon, soft coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla/oak, sounds generic but this one stands out with a touch more roast than others. Flavour is sweet with roast, roasted malts, coffee, bourbon, dark chocolate, alcohol, hint of dark fruits, bittersweet finish with more roast. Full bodied, smooth. Superb stuff, love the fact it’s not coffee-forward. ShivanDragon (4300) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - JUN 5, 2017
