Bottle. Oily black pour with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, hazlenut, roasted malt, earthy hops, toffee and coffee. Flavors of rich dark chocolate, booze soaked dark fruits, coffee, caramel, bitter/earthy undertones. Thick body, rich/roasty/bittersweet and satisfying throughout with a bitter/roast finish. Overall, there are two porters that tie for my favorite and they are both from MI: this and Darkhorse Special Black Bier. They both kind of go beyond of what I usually get from this style. This is one amazing brew, there’s lots of beers double in strength that fail to capture its focus and flavor.
355ml bottle. Dark brown/black with a small beige head. Roasted malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate and nuts. Good. troopie (2341) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JUL 15, 2017
Draught. Black with tan head. Looks just like a porter should. Malty Aroma. Fuller bodied with malt and chocolate. ’N bietjie hop in the finish, but not too much. mbgrayson (772) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - JUL 15, 2017

Excellent. A robust Porter, very interesting for those who, like me, enjoy strong beers. Aherbelste (93) - - JUL 13, 2017
Excellent porer. Maybe the finest of the genre. Really deeparoma, characteristic roasted malts. Very opaque dark brown, good persistent tanned foam. Overall, a great beer.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a creamy tan head. Enticing aromas of coffee, rich chocolate, roasted malt, caramel. The complex flavor doesn’t disappoint with more roasted character - coffee, nuts, chocolate with hops to balance. Creamy body and a lingering, balanced bitter coffee finish. Delicious. Tan head, minimal head and lacing.
Another great product from a great brewery.
Roasty-toasty, not very complex, caramel, faint rum notes, sweet finish.
Bottled on 4/26/17, Consumed on: 7/8/17
