COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the early 1900s, the village of De Panne, close to the French border, was famous for two things -- the ‘Pannepots,’ or fishing boats, that could be seen along the coast, and the unique dark ale enjoyed by the local fishermen. Our Old Fisherman’s Ale is a tribute to these hardy sailors and their rich, flavorful brew. Unfiltered. Unpasteurized. Bottle-conditioned in 33cl and 75cl.

Quel produit exceptionnel. (Brassin 2010-Lot B MA 30-02-16) (343-100912)

Elle est excellente. Une cuvée 2010, c'est encore meilleur. Une de mon top 5 ever. Si dommage qu'elle soit difficile à trouver. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poors reddish dark caramel-brown. Hardly any head. Great aroma greets you as soon as the bottle is opened: very fruity with a light acidic touch. Taste: loads of red and dark fruits, some anise maybe, sweet, soft caramel, gingerbread, some butterscotch, a little vanilla. Burned malts more in the back. Slightly grainy, astringent bitter aftertaste quickly taken over by the sweetness. MF surprisingly soft, alcohol well subdued. For me it's too sweet to be truly great but It's in any case a very complex and tasty brew.

Piwo koloru ciemno- brązowego z rubinowymi refleksami. Zacny trunek.

330ml bottle. Clear dark chestnut color. Small size, brown head, stays as a ring. Alcohol, sweet, caramel, plums, Belgian yeast in aroma. Roast, bready, alcohol, plums, sour raisins, bready in taste. Sour, Belgian yeast and sweet in aftertaste. Boozy and sourish mouthfeel. Soft fizz as carbonation. Solid brew.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a nearly black dark brown with a small, quickly-dissipating tan head - disappears entirely almost immediately. Aroma is caramel, booze, yeast, very light cherry, chocolate, plum, a little vanilla, and just a hint of red wine. Taste is berries, fig, plum, light coffee, booze, some caramel, yeast, some chocolate, some spice, some brown sugar, and a hint of red wine. Light bitterness. A tiny bit of tartness. Yeast lingers pleasantly. Full body. Medium carbonation. Oily, smooth mouthfeel. New facets appear with every sip.

Dark brown, mahogny in apperance. Very thin head, goes away quickly. Amazing aroma, dried fruit dominated by figs. Taste gives more of the same, figs plums, cherries and a slight touch of coffee. A bit more yeasty than the typical dark strong ale, which is to the better in my opinion. Very, very good!

Pours a fairly murky deep brown. Nose is amazing, so much going on. Fruity and caramelly, plum, fig, raisins some indiscernible sweet notes. Can't think of another beer that smells close to this. Taste follows the nose and is way more fruit forward than yeast forward. There is a bit of sourness but, to me, little alcohol heat. Full bodied and medium carbonation. Very unique beer.
