COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle, deep brown, thin head, sweet nose is reminiscent of honey and malt extract, big warming alcohol bite almost balances the sweetness. toffee and a touch of dried dark fruit and herby bitterness. Nice, but the lingering sweetness is a bit much.

Dark amber folour with reddish notes, 1 inch of very stable, creamy yellowish-light beigeish head; aroma of dried fruits like plum and raisin, some roasted sugar, herbal notes and hints of earth and smoke; taste of herbs, dried fruits, roasted sugar and tons of malts - really good doppelbock

Bottle at Rudi’s Beer House, Chania, Crete. Clear deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy and slightly crisp. The malt is surprisingly light. A little toffee - caramel and a light touch of dried fruits. Light dry finish. An easy going Dopllebock that hides it’s abv well.

The bottle looks really good, although I dont like that twist-off caps. Beer in the glass light brown, nice head. Intense malty aroma. Starts strong malty-spicy, not too alcoholic, fine notes of caramel. Nice dry background. Very well balanced finish, quite drinkable for its strengh. A masterpiece!

500 ml bottle at home, with a screw cap on it, poured into a snifter glass. Many thanks to McTapps for sending me this one! ABV 8.3% Deep red brown colour, transparent body. One finger of thin tan head on top, with good retention, leaving light lacing after it has collapsed. Aroma of malts, a bit of caramel, a bit nutty as well. Taste is malty with caramel, floral notes, the alcohol notable but only barely. Medium bodied with okay carbonation. moderate dry palate. Overall it wasn’t one to make me overly enthusiastic about it but it was very drinkable and smooth, therefore enjoyable. Lacks a couple of things but all in all more than decent.

Bottle from McTapps. Pours clear dark amber with a big creamy white head. Aroma of sugars and malts, herbal hops. Taste is light sweet caramel, nutty malts as well, well hidden alcohol, weak herbal hops at the finish, well balanced, still not a favourite here.
