COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberry lambic was once a rarity and only produced for a few weeks during the summer. Frank Boon was the first brewer to again prepare a raspberry lambic in the summer of 1976. More than 300 grams per liter of fresh raspberries give Framboise Boon a fresh fruity taste. The young lambic supports the flavor. But this is very much about raspberries, not the lambic. Of course we do not use artificial flavorings, only real raspberries. Boon Framboise has an alcohol volume of 5%. Drink it when it is young.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2011 My first fruit lambic!! Bottle, 37.5 cl. Deep red color, with a small pink head. The immediate aroma is fresh raspberries wrapped in sweet caramel-ish aromas. Sweet lambic jesus this smells good! In my mouth the body is medium to full, I’d say. Flavor is very much like the aroma, with wonderful fresh raspberries with delightful notes of caramel, slightly sour, but with sweet edges. Quickly, as I swallow, the expected sourness really comes through, refreshing and very very very pleasant! The sourness continues into the finish, leaving my mouth full of raspberry flavors, tartness and sour goodness! Wow. There are other flavors here besides the raspberry, but I’m not sure what they are, since I’m relatively new to the world of sour ales, but the raspberry flavors definitely dominate. The stuff in the background makes me think of a barnyard and such, but it’s very faint. Also, hints of lemon.

Overall: I think this is just spectacular! And it’s probably not even the best fruit/raspberry lambic out there! Wow!

Aromat typowe maliny końską derka cos takiego, cierpkie trochę wodnkate gorzkawe w charakterystyczny sposób. Przyjemne nagazowanie, dziwne uczucie w ustach po wypiciu trochę jakby myflaste.

Barwa czerwona, trwała średnia piana. W aromacie maliny i stajnia, trochę dalej wiśnie. W smaku mniej słodkie niż wskazywałby aromat. Mało kwaśne. Lekko cierpki finisz.

Gerbeer (3700) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 20, 2017
On tap. Pours a deep garnet red and moderate white head. Aromas of flat raspberries, cotton candy, and wheat. Flavors of metallic raspberries and dry wheat. Linking metallic notes. Maybe a line problem.

Bottle, vintage 2013. Pours slightly cloudy dark ruby. Aroma is strong raspberry, syrup, maltose. Body is medium, strongly fruity, quite sweet, lightly sour and tart. Raspberry, red berries, creamy. Soft fizzy carbonation. Lingering raspberry palate. Good!

2014, 750ml bottle. Etre Gourmet. Dark, dusky, cherry red. Mucky pink head. Nose has raspberry jam. Overripe raspberry. Fruity toffee. Taste is light sweet, with the lightest of fruit sourness. Light body. Fine carbonation. Dries out somewhat at the end. Sat outside on a warm evening, it hit the spot pretty well. 7473-15

Looks very pretty (pink with small head). Unfortunately is more sweet and juicy than Lambic styled beer.

Bardzo słodki, malinowy, intensywnie owocowy zapach. W smaku jest na szczęście raczej kwaśne, słodycz też występuje, ale jest dobrze skontrowana. Brakuje trochę wyraźniejszych dzikich brettowych akcentów.

Scipio (1048) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2017
2014 bottle. Pours a dark, ruby red with a bubbly, off white head that recedes extremely quickly. The aroma is slightly earthy, is heavy in raspberry, and has milder grape, caramel, and oak. The taste is tart, dry, and has a slight sweet touch. The impressions are what the nose led you to anticipate. Strong raspberry, with earthy malts, oak, apple, and vinegar. Long lasting aftertaste is a tart raspberry. Light in body, thin in texture, and some weaker, fizzy carbonation. This one tastes good and is a nice change of pace. However, I could never drink something like this regularly.

Pours dark red/purple with some fizzy white ’head’. Aroma packed full of raspberries, reminds me of a fresh pie. Taste is much milder than I was expecting and quite dry. Fruity raspberries with a mild funk, a little like portello. Very, very refreshing and approachable, but prefer the kriek.
