COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our dark wheat beer is impressive with its creamy white foam. A fruity-fresh sweetness and hints of mature bananas harmonise with delicious flavours of roasted malt, sparkling and full-bodied with a light caramel taste on the first sip. An excellent accompaniment from hearty meals and game to chocolate and nut desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1 pint 0.9oz bottle into a Weizen Glass. The abv is listed on the label at 5.3% and there is no freshness date. Appearance: It has a deep hazy orange amber body with visible carbonation. A quick pour fills the glass with foam. After a minute to settle I very slowly finished pouring and ended up with a nice three finger head. The light beige head hangs on well and makes lots of cool lace patterns on the glass. Smell: Big German yeast notes rush up to fill my nose. The aroma is all about the classic banana notes with some mild clove and bready sweet malt. Taste: The best way to describe this beer is that is like banana bread with nuts and chocolate chips. The palate is a firm medium body with nice active carbonation. Notes: Outstanding!!! This beer is a work of wheat beer art.

Deep hazy caramel chestnut colour with a large creamy head. Full, yeasty malty aroma with caramel and spices, banana. Bready, yeasty, plenty of clove in this one--creamy mouthfeel. Great memories of drinking this with my brother James.

Yes, it’s true that it has a nice head of creamy white foam, pouring rather cloudy, and first taste is includes banana-caramel notes. But with a "hearty meal" it did not work so well for me, as it just seemed too sweet. Next time, I’ll try with chocolate or dessert.

50 cl. bottle @ Home. Aroma: not very intense aromas of banana, wheat, spices. Hints of fruits, grains, toasted malts, caramel, nuts, dried fruits, toffee. No hop aromas. Appearance: deep golden to amber color with slightly off-white head. Quite hazy. Very high head thickness with very high retention. Creamy foam made of small to medium sized bubbles. Low Brussels’ lacing. Taste: medium sweetness, low bitterness, no sourness. Flavors of toasted malts, wheat. Hints of banana, caramel, spices, fruits, dark fruits, nuts. Balance is on the malt sweetness side. Not much hop flavors nor bitterness. Palate: low to medium body, watery to oily texture, medium carbonation, quite long mainly sweet finish of malts, wheat, toasted malts, caramel, banana, spices, toffee, dark fruits, fruits, nuts. Quite refreshing despite of all the sweetness. High drinkability. Overall: good appearance, not very intense but pleasant aromas of banana, spices, toasted malts. Very pleasant flavors of toasted malts, caramel. Hints of banana, spices, fruits, dark fruits, nuts, toffee. Very good brew.
