4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2012 Viscous black pour with a thin ring of head. Slightly boozy aroma with a definite bourbon presence. Oaky, roast, chocolate and coffee aromas are all quite pleasing to my olfactory as I swirl my shifter. Taste is sweet, yet bitter, with heavily roasted malts. Some notes of coffee, tobacco, leather, oak, vanilla, and bourbon. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted that many things. Palate is thick and chewy, yet surprisingly carbonated for its heft. Finishes with a long bitter roastiness. Wait, there’s HOW MUCH alcohol in this? No way! I don’t believe it. The quintessential bourbon barrel stout.
Bottle from Brewtopia. Black with no head or lace. Boozy chocolate woody aroma. Very sweet boozy chocolate with some plum bittersweet coffee chocolate ashy finish. Almost no carbo slick oily. Mouthfeel ruins it. It’s almost still. Like drinking boozy dark chocolate syrup. What a waste of money. I’m gonna keep drinking it as long as I can and update my rating when I’m finished. .................................................. it was a pretty good sipper and I finished it, so it must be better than a 3. john44 (3101) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2017
Keg at The White Horse, Parson’s Green, London in July 2017 - Opaque jet black in colour. Good creamy tan head. Very Malty; roast malts, dark chocolate, bourbon, oak, vanilla, sugars, liquorice, coffee. Fruity; dark fruit, plums, raisins. Hoppy; balancing hop bitterness. Warming alcohol. Thick, smooth, rich. Great depth of flavour. Sweet-bitter roast malty with chocolate and bourbon. Lasting roast malty finish. Great stuff. Really enjoyed this. Terrific Impy Stout! (2017-07) rob19a (352) - - JUL 10, 2017
20/20 it’s lovely, massive flavour, chocolate, coffee, raisins, liquorice, slight alcohol burn but this is an equal to KBS. artemb (1006) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JUL 9, 2017

Keg at The White Horse, Parsons Green, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla on the nose. Tastes lovely and rich, roasty, malty, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. An exquisite complex Imperial Stout from Firestone Walker. Stoned99 (1553) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 1, 2017
375ml bottle shared with brother. Aroma: toffee, caramel, boozy bourbon even some whiskey aroma, really really subtle tobacco. App: black with monorail mocha frothy head leaving good lacing. Taste and palate: full body, creamy, velvety, light body and big alcohol finish. Overall: first time I’ve had Parabola, I’ve had a few Firestone including Parabajava and this one is definitely something I’d like to have more in my beer cellar. I really enjoy the alcohol finish. Love the mouthfeel. Pretty good. WingmanWillis (329) - Surrey, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2017
Keg at White Horse on Parsons Green. Pours jet black with dirty tan head that dissipates time lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, liquorice, marshmallow and molasses. Taste is a boozy hit of chocolate and liquorice that mellows out with a nice boozy sweetness with just a hint of burn. Really nice and drinkable. Intense bourbon, oak barrels, sweet grain malts, caramel, toffee, dark, candied fruits, raisins, plums. Clear, very dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Heavy sweet. More dark, sweet fruits, cashier plum and raisins, chocolate, dark molasses, sweet coffee, soft carbonation, full bodied. Beautiful Impy, great complexity, intense but well-balanced. Keg at The White Horse, Parsons Green. The_Osprey (7996) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2017
Keg at The White Horse Parsons Green, with huge thanks to scopey for the gen. As Firestone Walker Parabola, 14%. Opaque black, foamy light brown head diminishes slowly. Aroma is molasses, meaty sugars, dark truffles and vanilla. Body is fairly big I think but the carbonation really cuts through it. The flavour is huge with lots of milk chocolate, bourbon and chocolate fudge, eggnog with brandy with a salty, woody spicy alcoholic absinthe finish. A bit hot but it has huge flavours. Would be better not dispensed from keg for the usual reasons that I will not reiterate but at £3.75 a half there can be no arguments. (8-4-8-3-16=3.9)
