COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ten FIDY Imperial Stout – This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 65 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. What a gorgeous mother of a beer! Deep black hole dark - light has no hope of passing throught this beer. I’ve never imagined a beer that thick and dark. Nice dark tan head with a little lace, doesn’t last. Aroma is of bright dark chocolate, dark coffee beans, cooked sweet fruit - apple maybe?, and nice roasty goodness. Mouthfeel is as you would expect - syrupy thick - with velvety soft carbonation. Starts light - tate doesn’t show up until the middle of the tongue. Starts with dark chocolate, carbon, licorice, maybe a hint of vanilla, deep woodsiness. Develops more into dark burnt roast - tastes like a campfire - in a good way. Alcohol is warming, but not overdone. An overlying sweetness doen’s compete with the bitterness but keeps it from being unpleasant. Kind of a meatiness in the end, crips bitterness lasts in the end. What a glorious beer. I will dream of this, and I may write a song about it.

A surprisingly good beer. I'm not usually a fan of Stouts, but this is amazing.

Black pour, tan head. Aroma is slightly ethanol(ic?) with roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is similar, despite the 65 IBU lacks bitterness.

MaltOne (408) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 10, 2018
Massive, chewy, classic Russian Imperial. Dark, opaque brown, with a coffee colored, whipped cream consistency head. Aroma is deep roasted malt, hints of chocolate and molasses. Taste follows the aroma. Palate – thick, creamy, rich. Overall… great. (on tap @ 024 in the Arts Mill, Grafton).

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2017 Drank on NYE 2017-18 after hiking to Mount High West (and failing to see the fireworks). Pours an opaque dark brown-black with a fluffy beige head. Smells of booze, medium cranberry and plum skin, moderate herbal menthol bitterness, spicy malt, Taste is chocolate, biscuity malt, menthol, light toffee and peanut and spice. Body is heavy, inky, bitter, boozy. Big and bitter.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2017 Can from LCBO in Toronto at home in HK on NYE. Pitch black pour with thin, very light tan head. Aroma is sharp leather and wood earthiness with bitter coffee grounds. Taste is similarly sharp and bitter first, with deep roasted coffee and chocolate on a rich but not heavy palate. Straightforward and well-executed big bitter stout.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2017 The stout I have been searching for. A beer that keeps you satisfied after only one beer. Great to drink slow.

Turboninja (932) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 15, 2017
Tap(nitro)@Konttori, Tampere, Finland. Strong, bold and malty taste with licorice, roasted soft malts, dark chocolate, a hint of butter cookies. Balanced with wide taste spectrum and long aftertaste like pancakes on a camp fire. Strong, soft body with medium/light carbonation. Overall, superb quality, especially malts are implemented in a perfect way. Not so distinctive though. 7 5 8 4 17
