4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is the Wild Turkey whiskey barrel aged Ten FIDY poured up at the brewpub on tap with an aged motor oil darkness with a mocha head that leaves behind full on sheet lacing. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts and fudge brownie and chocolate. The taste is rich creamy heaven, what more do you need to know. OK, I get fudge brownie that employs European silky rich fatty butter yumminess, sweet smooth whiskey and dark roasted to near burnt malts. This is sweet smooth booze that picks up more dark roasted malts and a pleasing chocolate note into the finish. Holy cow! Simply amazing poetry being written here as the barrel aging only adds to the amazing base beer rather than smother it like so many other brews out there. This is holy hell good. I gotta sit down . . .
Pours a deep dark brown color. Small tan head head that lasted throughout. Aromas of bourbon and wood. Flavor was a lot of bourbon, hints of smoke, chocolate. Full bodied and creamy. Tasted more bourbon than beer. WOW, this is a flavorful beer!! ryanfolty (2585) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - OCT 24, 2014

Tap at the BTBF. The look is dark, big tan head, and dark black in color. The smell is wood, great, alcohol, raisins, fruit, sugar, bourbon, and barrels. The taste is roast, rich, complex, dark fruits, wood, whiskey, and so good. Mjp12 (1971) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2014
Wow, a supreme beer, the whiskey aroma is intense, but a glassful of complex flavours mellows the taste. A luxurious, world class beer.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. This version was aged in a Breckenridge bourbon barrel. Pours near black with a modest tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a rich dark molasses flavor with a dry finish and a warm alcohol trail. A nice sipper.
