COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.
We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.
Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.
We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, hops and yeast

Maris (1553) - Canberra, - NOV 12, 2012
From a 500ml bottle on 12/11/2012 (batch no. 413, BB 02/2017). Pours close to black with a lovely medium light tan head. Has a lovely chocolatey aroma with some woody and unusual floral notes. The flavour is sublime, with an explosion of milk chocolate, along with some caramel fudge, a with a dash of espresso, a touch of vanilla, and a hint of dark fruit. Countering is a massive roasty bitterness and big hop presence. The palate is velvety and the carbonation perhaps a shade higher than a typical for the style. Incredibly moreish and easy to drink for something that’s 10.5%. An astoundingly complex, exceptional imperial stout.

Thin beige head left a cover on a near black still body. Big aroma of dark chocolate, bitter fruit, sour grapes & hints of malt. Medium bodied, so so smooth on the palate with a slight tingle on the back. Dry. Sweet malt, chocolate & vanilla to the fore followed by a slightly bitter back of dark chocolate, dark spirits, sweet grapes & hints of citrus

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2017 Bomber bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Looks like used motor oil with a thin nibbling head that quickly dissipates. Full thick body with moderate warmth. Rich aroma and rich, bold flavor. Bitter - sweet, with both tastes on display. Complex roasted malt flavor with faint spicy hops. Overall: excellent.

Bottle from systembolaget Sweden. Short brown head. Big and interesting roasted malty aroma. Full and rich malty taste with a very balanced caramell taste. Good bitterness that balance everything. One of the best imp stout I’ve tried.

Bottle, thanks to keenano. Impressive inky black pour with a tan head. Wow, this is a dense beer. Many imperial stouts brag about being thick, oily, or a meal-in-a-bottle, but this definitely lives up to the description. Rich, thick, coats the mouth. Aroma is chocolate and dried fruit. Taste is a little sweet, dark fruit, dried fruit and berry notes, chocolate, some bitterness at the end that balances out and lingers. Not the best imperial stout I’ve had, but quite tasty and impressively thick.
