COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

Bottle No 79844 Tenth Anniversary Bottle nose showed some spikiness, roastiness, a touch of slight white pepper. Very very easy head, magnolia to beige. A copper oranginess with typical sparkles. Body is medium to full, some sap, some glossiness. On the tongue there is banana, dried fruit and an almost whiskiness to it. Dried glace fruits, some brown sugar. So complex with a long dry end. As good as any beer you’ll ever have had from any brewer, anytime, anywhere. Maybe better. Just spectacular.

500ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a cloudy dark copper amber. Nose presents evidence of oxidation, but some dark fruits and caramel linger about. Flavour is also oxidized, however some nice caramel sugars going on, dark fruits, and a malty semi sweet body. I’ve tried newer versions of this and I think I have enjoyed this one more so.

500mL bottle, pours a murky cloudy dark amber brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of cardboard, dark dried fruits, slight tartness, and bready caramel. Flavour is quite oxidized, but in a good way, with tart dark fruits, bready malt, and cardboardy oxidation. Oxidized, but pleasantly so. Solid stuff.

Tasted 2014. Golden/amber color. Aroma is a lot of ripe fruits ready to be plucked from the tree. Sweet taste with dark fruits, plums, apricote and some yeast. Low carbonation probably due to the age. Smooth finish with just a hint of alcohol.

Small tasting glass @ brewery tasting room. Vineous character, tastes like sherry. Very smooth. Spices and hops are gone after 9 years. Left are fruit like aromas. Great stuff.

Bottle #26488. Muddy burnt orange, light skiff cap. Aroma of caramel, plum, raisin, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, and bitter. Palate is medium-low carbonation and a bit tingly on the tongue. A mixture of sticky and thin finish.

Pours a cloudy amber colour with no lacing or head. Aroma raisin, butterscotch. Tastes just like it smells l, raisins, butterscotch, alcohol(sherry), and a bit of sweet orange. I don’t normally comment on palate....but this one leaves a "buttery" film in the mouth; nice. A very good beer!

500ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Hazy amber color. Tiny to almost no head. Sweet, raisins, plums and prunes in aroma. Nice sparky aroma. Caramel, raisins, plums, sweet in taste. Raisins and caramel in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Faint hops. Feels just a tiny bit old. Nice brew.
