COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Russian Imperial Stout is dedicated to Gregory Zhukov. Arguably one of World War II’s finest generals and a man bold enough to appreciate the rich, complex flavors of a beer brewed to fortify a body through the Russian winter. Like military geniuses, Russian Imperial Stouts reach their peak with a little age on them, so we release Marshal Zhukov’s Russian Imperial Stout in sweltering August so that it will be at peak flavor come January or February. <P> Opaque black in color, the aroma has notes of espresso, chocolate, dark sweet toffee with hints of black strap molasses. The flavor starts with an unsweetened chocolate character and supporting notes of herbal dryness from English hop varietals. It then moves into dark toffee sweetness and closes with a slap of roasty espresso. Zhukov’s Imperial Stout pairs well with Mushroom Solyanka, dark chocolate, cherries and ground wars in Russia. Enjoy, comrade.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2012 Bottle. Pours a thick dark black with an espresso colored head. Aroma is dark cherries, espresso, black licorice, roasted malts, burnt sugar and hints of alcohol. Taste is dark chocolate and coffee. Getting hints of licorice and dark cherries and roasted/smoked malts. On the palate the beer provides a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, lingering roasted coffee at the end. Nice carbonation, definitely not syrupy at all. Impressive beer!

Chocolate negro y malas quemadas, resinas.

W smaku gorzkie kakao, czekolada, kawa, wiśnie, wanilia. Spora palona goryczka, alkohol delikatnie rozgrzewa.

Impressive RIS, deceptive in its bittersweet charms, feinting sweetness before blasting you with an intense, roasted hop bitterness on the back end. Baker's chocolate, anise, soy sauce, caramel, coffee, pine, and subtle dark fruit notes all meld together in a glorious melange of Imperial Stout decadence, all before reaching a angry, dry fade that lingers long and heavy on the palate. Pours a thick, endless black with a rich brown head and modest lacing. Chocolate, java, soy, and booze on the nose. Thick, chunky texture is almost chowder-like in its viscosity, and the heat is mostly hidden, only gaining the tiniest modicum of warmth deep into the fade. Very nice pint.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2017 Rewelacyjnie czekoladowe. Gęste, czuć alkohol się się nie narzuca. Mocno grzeje w przełyku. W aromacie też nuty ziołowe. W smaku mocna czekolada wymieszaną z nutami czerwonych owoców. Delikatne wiśnie w smaku. W smaku jakby nuta pszenicy.

Aromat: mocny, ciężki, słodki, intensywny, ciemne owoce, suszone śliwki, czekolada, praliny. Pachnie bardzo przyjemnie. Trochę nut kawowych i palonych zbożowych. Piwo dobrze wchodzi. Odczucie: pełne, wyklejające, gęste, gorzki i długi finisz Nie będzie pięciu punktów a zbyt mocną i długą popiołowość.

Dolciastra.
