From a 750ml bottle at The Lions Pride - thanks Chris! Pours a light cloudy golden colour with cream white head. Strong winey aroma with white grape and clean, crisp Asian pear. Interesting dry, crisp flavor with white grapes, chalky mineral, and a certain quality that reminded me of oak aged white wine. The finish starts off with a hint of citrus sweetness then finished bone dry as expected of Cantillon. A very well constructed gueuze that I am certain will improve even more with age.

Bottle from a trade with fonefan. Great woody fresh smooth nose. The beer starts fresh smooth, sour woody and very round. Mild sour horse blanket, the woody cognac barrel is there, the bordeaux a bit in the back as well. Great smooth aftertaste with a moderate sourness. Long, intense, round mild smooth woody sour beer. Fantastic mild woody lambic.

750. Damn, thanks, D. Lets just not all think too much about the cost on this one, and pretend that the other bottles that came with it were a big chunk of the price. Either way, shit, it was worth it. Pours a clear bright medium amber with a scant off-white head. Basement, pencil shavings, fresh cut hardwood, minerals, wet grass and straw, and a bit of barnyard on the nose. Everythings a beautifully integrated symphony. Creamy medium body with moderate carb. All the funky, minerally, wild notes from the nose show up on the palate, nothing overpowering, nothing out of balance, just a wild bouquet of different notes hovering in perfect formation together. Mild dry finish.

From old ratings. Sample @ Tuinfeest Heeren Van Liedekerke. Hazy orange colour, creamy white foam. Nose of green apples, barnyard, funk. Lemony, refreshing. Very nice geuze.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2016 Bottle: Served in a Cantillon tumbler: So here it is, or beter here it goes :-) Been saving this all the time till my little baby girl was born. Op je gezondheid, Stella! White head. Hazy orange body. Incredible nose: fruit, dust, cognac, funk, rubber, ash, soap, vinous, light farm and even some caramel. Flavour is quite bitter for a Lambic. But theres a good tartness/sourness. Some funk and wood, older flowers, fruit, earthy, darker wood, some caramel, malts, brett, light farm, some cheese and some dryness, even some cognac and wine. Ever changing beer, interesting! Aftertaste is dry, tart, malts, funk, brett, wood, fruit and some cheese. Low carbo, creamy tart mouthfeel, between medium and full bodied. Interesting beer! Not what I expected but very nice!

75cl bottle shared at DHVL. It pours a hazed golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is rich and dusty, with oak, vanilla, funky white grapes, lemon juice, basement. Taste is also oaky and lightly bitter in between the layers of lemony tartness and basement funk. Theres some stone fruit notes, possibly from brett or oak. Its somewhat softer than regular Cantillon gueuze. Body is medium with good carbonation. Overall, excellent and interesting beer, on pr with 50N4E for me, but theres better Gueuzes out there.basement aromas,

750 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 5/18/2014. Golden body until the end of the bottle, where it gets murky. Medium white head. Smells herbal with some lemon acidity. Kinda fruity from the cognac barrel. Woody and a little bit of hay. Tastes of sharp lemon sourness. Hay and grainy wheat. Yeasty. Light fruitiness. Lemon sourness lingers in the finish. Really funky. Moderate sourness. Kinda bitter, surprisingly. Medium carbonation. Very different from Classic Gueuze. I wasnt impressed, initially, but after drinking it for a bit, it was really good.

750mL bottle drunk 8/13/16.
Peachy-maize-golden body shows good clarity and a fluffy, white head that shows strong retention for the style.
Pure brett goodness is joined by rich oak and cognac in the nose. It comes off soft and gentle, yet certainly highly aromatic, with light plaster and musty/funky notes. With extended breathing, a juicy stone fruit character, with light lime and band aid really takes hold. The brett has hit its expressive stride seemingly perfectly here. Impressive, as I usually associate this type of aroma with 3F and sure enough, the Milennium and 1999 both smelled similar, or at least, much more similar to this than Spuyten and Bourgogne. Back to the barrel, Im not usually a big fan of barrel character in lambics, but its done perfectly here, adding very light toastiness and rich, woody notes in just the right proportion so as not to dominate, yet very much complement the more dry, tart, headier brett notes. With a bit of work, a moderate pepper/spice character is notable as well, also from the cognac. As the Zenne Y Frontera would prove to be, a few beers later, this is a masterwork of integrating barrel character without going overboard. No alcohol or flaw.
Dry, oaky and yet still quite bright, thanks to all of the brett. Perfect texture with ample, tight carbonation and a soft, wheat/tannin-laden feel to it. Not terribly acidic but just incredibly juicy. Not sure where its coming from but it balances the cognac/wood perfectly, just as in the nose. Soft, moderately sour, highly flavorful, lactic acids linger on the finish, keeping the beer intensely crisp, lip-smacking and bright. Favorite beer of the tasting, and thats saying a lot, given the competition.

Poured a nice peach color with a suprisingly big amount of carbonation given its age. Aroma was perfumey, citrus fruits, must, light asprin, minerals, lemon juice. So well rounded. Flavor similar, a bit more tart than expected, floral, grainy, fruit skins, grassy and funk. Beautiful beer.
