COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A clean and balanced presentation of malty sweetness with a refreshing herbal hop finish. There’s an Oktoberfest in every sip. Best enjoyed with savory pork dishes, slow-grilled meats, bold cheeses and smoked game.

On tap at Lazlo’s in Lincoln. From Notes 9/29/2012. Pours an orange color with white head. Grainy, earthy, malty flavors with a slight bitter aftertaste. Weak oktoberfest.

Bottle. A- Sweet bread, caramel, stone fruits, sweat, gourds. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Sweet bread, caramel, malty, rotten apricots. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet malty finish. O- Not what I am used to for the style but not bad. It’s got a weird aroma and finish that reminds me of overripe stone fruit. Not bad not great. Glad I tried it, but don’t want it again.

In my humble diagnosis, the bottle for Aries is the most badass one that Empyrean has ever put their beer in. As it turned out, though, my first experience with Aries was on tap. A good experience, too. Aries poured effervescent and nearly golden. It kept a thin layer of head all the way to the end. Aroma has sweet bread and mild hops. Flavor is understated. It doesn’t have the caramel sweetness of my favorite Marzens but it’s certainly smooth and satisfying. Though it’s brewed for fall, Aries hits the spot best on 90+ degree Nebraska days like this one.

Tap at Rhombus Guys in Fargo. Very slightly hazy orange pour with a small head. Mildly toasty, earthy, malty, and pretty simple / straightforward. Not bad.

Pours a nice golden copper color with a one finger white head. Aroma is super clean, just a slight toasted note. Taste is also really clean, with some nice toasty malt notes and a nice bitter grassy hop that finishes clean. Overall just a really solid brew. Brewed in March and bottled in August, it has time to calm down and clear out. Medium light body instead of light and 5.3%ABV

Pours a nice color. Nice flavor and a bit of a bite to it which stands out from other Oktoberfests.

Meh. I wouldn’t call this bland, per se, in fact if its anything, its too sweet. Brown sugar and candy in the flavor to an unsettling degree. One of the lesser varieties from this usually decent brewery.
