Bottle. I believe my first beer from Nebraska; I brought back one more from them too. Color wasn’t very attractive. Aroma was a bit musty, a bit bready and a touch smoky. Not that great of an aroma. Flavor was alot better, but really not that flavorful or true to the style. Almost more akin to an amber. Not much smokiness or sweetness. Caramel and bread predominantly. As others have said, it is really drinkable, but just not very tasty.

Deep hazy bronze body with a thin white head. The aroma was massive caramel and pears with light hints of green wood. There is also an underlying buttery note. The taste has some notes of old caramel candy and light wood. There is also some peppery spice that sneaks in as you drink. Drinkable and drinkable, I actually liked this more than many Scottish Ales, as it tasted more like a malty ESB to me.

Can’t place the aroma. This is pretty good too. Not very smoky or peaty, with some malt but not a lot. Doesn’t seem much like a Scottish but it’s okay anyways.

Pours a clear reddish orange. Thin, fizzy white head with decent retention. Aroma is sweet malts. Flavor is not as sweet, with some smoky notes and coffee malt. Think Fat Tire with a hint of coffee flavor. No aftertaste. Is this a great beer? No. But for a smooth session beer, you could do a lot worse.

I’d hardly call it a Scottish Ale. Pours a cloudy copper with a thin white head. The body is very fizzy, with a front of the mouth soda quality. A bit of breadlike malt, but generally lacking in body or character.

Bottle: Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Aroma, pale and caramel malts, some fruits, grains. Flavor, caramel, pale and bready malts, some fruits, and grains, not bad.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2011 (Rerate - accidentally bought a sixes of this without realizing I tried it in the past and hated it - must have had an off bottle - what I have now is decent - fairly smooth maltiness of nuttiness and caramel - very light smoke - earthy bitterness in the finish - a little thin, but decent) Thanks to valpoaj for this - completely clear, fizzy brown beer, with almost no head - very bland aroma of light grain and caramel - spritzy, soda-like carbonation in the mouth - thin flavor, with light peat, some roasted graininess, some nutty flavor - tastes like they used adjuncts - a little alcohol warmth in the throat - pretty uninteresting all-around.

Pale golden color with a light head. Aroma is grainy and malty with some corn to it. Flavor has a light pale malty taste with some grain and light hops. Not all that great, but for a light session beer its not bad.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with valpoaj (thanks!). Poured a medium orange color with a very small sized head. Aromas of grains, light caramel, and very light peat/earthiness. Tastes of caramel, toasted grains, and maybe some fruitiness. Thinner and weaker in aromas, tastes and body.
