COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Easy drinking with hints of sweet corn, bread and caramel, this beer finishes with a blast of citrus hop and just enough crisp to balance the sweet. It’s a toast to rolling surf, Baja hoodies, beach BBQs and the elusive green flash. Pairs with summer’s grilled foods like BBQ chicken, beef or fish. Also great with cinnamon or caramel desserts.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2015 Supernova seems to want to taste like a California Common but its hoppiness is more indicative of an American Pale Ale. That works for me! I like the spicy, herbal notes of the hops. Carbonation is lively but also a bit harsh. Not Empyrean’s very best but it’s worth having.

Pours a cloudy, pale gold with a medium white head that dissipates moderately fast with little to no lacing. A hint of citrusy hops combined with the aromas of grain malt makes for a sweet, malty aroma. Lively carbonation and light body, sits smooth and finishes clean. Medium sweet and light bitter taste. Overall, a fair balance of hops and malt (leaning on the hops) making for a satisfying brew.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden orange color with white head. Bread, cereal aromas. Bitter, toast, malty flavors. Pretty boring.

RSRIZZO (1986) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 16, 2013
12oz bottle poured into a Lager Glass at 49°. Color is a slightly hazy gold with very good carbonation and a fluffy white head. Aroma is very light with a bit of corn and a sour note coming through. It has a lighter body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor comes in with a lightly sweet corn or grain like taste, a touch of lemon zest and a bit of hop spice. In the after taste a gentle bitterness shows leaving an almost dry feel behind. Overall it’s a nice little brew just not all that exciting.

12oz bottle 1/16/13 (Courtesy of RSRIZZO)-49° in Lager Glass-Pours a hazy golden with a nice loose white head. Aroma of slight citrus, grain, and hay. Taste of citrus, grain, and hay. This light bodied brew would be a great lawnmower on a hot day kinda brew.

This an okay summer beer. Somewhat heavy on the palate with a nice citrus flavor and a mild bready aroma.

Pours a lightly hazed orange with a thin bright white head. Aroma is bread, fruity yeast, toast, light cereal notes and spicy and citrus hops. Flavor is toast, burnt orange, light floral hops, honey, crusty bread, cereal grain, sweet malt and lemon oil. Palate is medium bodied, with a moderate, but sharp carbonation and slightly oily feel. Pretty nice overall, surprisingly hoppy for the style, would be better with a lighter feel.
