COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Easy drinking with hints of sweet corn, bread and caramel, this beer finishes with a blast of citrus hop and just enough crisp to balance the sweet. It’s a toast to rolling surf, Baja hoodies, beach BBQs and the elusive green flash. Pairs with summer’s grilled foods like BBQ chicken, beef or fish. Also great with cinnamon or caramel desserts.

On tap at Crescent Moon, this is a nice dark bronze beer with a substantial head. Astringent bitterness and a metallic bite. Pleasant hop character without the full fruity burst of an IPA ... Good brew.

On tap at the 2006 Nebraska Craft Brewer’s Festival. Pours a cinnamon color with amedium off-white head. Mild fruit flavor seems a slight bit soapy, but not much. Tastes exactly like a steam beer. In fact, this tastes closer to Anchor than any other attempt I have tried. Mild buttery tonge feel. Fruity berries amid caramel toastiness. Good lacing remains.

On tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. Copper in color with a rapidly disappearing head. Nice hop aroma. First sip reveals a strong bittering hop content that greatly satisfies. Malt content is good, but not generous. Still, the great hop flavor makes this very drinkable.

Grainy and slightly bready in aroma. The flavor is balanced by hops and malts, a slight stickiness from the malts and a decent hop bite into the finish. Not quite sure what style of ale this is, but it cleans up pretty good.

CanIHave4Beers (4184) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - JUL 1, 2012
The beer pours a hazy sunny yellow with a big fluffy white head.

The aroma is malty, bready, and a little bit salty. Some light toastiness serves the bouquet well.

The flavor is floral, almost soapy, but besides that it’s pretty true to the general character of the style’s benchmark (Anchor Steam) with light notes of toasty caramel malt, lots of breadiness, some yeasty character and herbal bitterness.

It’s a nice example of a beer style we just don’t see a lot of in the midwest.
