Auburn appearance, little head. Sweet malt, a nice subtle choclateyness and light hops in the nose. Body is choclatey, with an odd milky mouthfeel. Good malt presence with iron notes coming through. Finishes dry. Thanks Shorlin, via Oakes! Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 18, 2002
Clear, dark brown w/ red accents. Aroma is of bark, hinting at bread crust, pecans and tobacco. Fairly full body, enhanced by the low carbonation and touch of oiliness. Malty front with light nuttiness leads to more iron-tasting middle. Finishes with earthy, toasty notes and an increase in hop dryness. Straightforward flavours very similar to the aroma. Thanks Shorlin! shorlin (721) - St. John’s, Newfoundland, CANADA - AUG 27, 2002
Deep red-brown. Low but nice carb. Nice super malty nose. I may have to let thi swarm up a little before I finish it. Time passes.... Pretty nice. Warm, solid malty taste that lasts and lasts. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 30, 2002

I was extremely pleasantly surprised by this one. An attractive brown with thin head, but nice malty smell, with enough hops in the background to balance. It has a really nice hazelnut quality to it. A happy surprise.

Nutty flavor is deep, rich, with walnut and hazelnut essences. Warm--yum....
