3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml Bottle. Clear golden copper body with a fine off-white head. A light caramel malt aroma with some citrus. Flavor is malty, sweet and also a bit citrus sour plus the regular Ename spiciness. Quite pleasant.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reddish brown, nice thick head. Sweet, syrapy, malty and a little spicy. I couldn’t find the same metallic and thin feel that I found in dubbel, but rather nice fullness and sweetiness. I like the huge champagne like carbonation that comes with bottle fermenting. Good!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A very malty beer. Some alcohol and fruit, and a thick, heavy palate. Much better than the blond, and I am surprised to see this rated as low as it is.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big creamy offwhite lasting head. Deep red-brown body with strong carbonation. Light sweetish licorice, bread, and spice aroma. Taste is watery sweetish cinnamon with light licorice notes. Slightly acidic dryish aftertaste of cane sugar. Not bad, but not very exciting, either. (0.33l bottle.)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33 cL bottle. Pours red, clear with creamy and lasting head. Little aroma when cold, but has figs and coriander on top of hops once warmed up. Taste has it the rest: malt, caramel and fruitiness. Carbonated, they honestly could turn a bit down on this. Lasting hoppy bitterness

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2007 You’d expect a festive Belgian to outspice your typical Tripel, but you’d be wrong. Mellow and fruity, but lacking presence for a winter beer. Ename’s characterstic metallic yeastiness, but little else of interest. Brilliant clear red body and firm lasting head. Slightly sourish and aged? Pleasant but deathly boring.
