A lovely coppery red colour in the glass. The aroma of this abbey beer reveals traces of malt, chaff and vanilla. Juicy malt, caramel and a hint of fruit brighten up the flavour down to the dry, slightly bitter finish. Our Cuvée Rouge, which is re-fermented in the bottle, is definitely something else.

Was looking forward to taste this cuvee rouge, but quite disappointed.. The colour is real nice, pink (rosé as wine) a slight pink colour in the foam. But the taste is quite banal.. Lot of cereals in there, quite sweet, nothing really special for me going on here..

This is a vicious beer. And I don’t mean this in a ’cool’ way. It is dishwater with some sour. It is puckering in a way you don’t want your mouth to experience. (and I’m a big fan of puckering sour). It’s not dry, it’s af if a doctor puts a wooden spatula in your mouth. The yeast is disgusting. The aftertaste is something you want to get rid of but hangs on like a stalker.

Anaranjada, rojiza. Muy abundante espuma rosacea. Muy duradera. Aroma escaso, terroso. Gas marcado, punzante, excesivo. Acaramelada, notas frutales. Algo metálica. Seca. Nada especial en sabor, y demasiado gas.

29th Nov 2016 finds me in Tom’s (Volkscafé Sint-Jakobs, Brugge) for a couple of late afternoon beers. I decided to have a 33cl bottle of this after my draught Blonde: glad I did, because I really enjoyed this. Old gold in colour, rich, creamy head. Red berries in both the nose and taste, hedgerow fruits abound. Decent fruit beer with a slight bitter finish.

No detail information about the malts, hops and drinktemperature on the bottle, more information on the webpages. Cloudy amber beer with big stable light rose head, too little smell for me, fizzy carbonation, berries, light bitter, short finish, I can taste red fruits, for me a better Radler with the reason this isn’t too sweetness, full body, thin texture but not worse, (I have 0.33l bottle with batch L6681 10:44 and best-before 20.07.2017)

kermis (13883) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 11, 2016
Bottle shared. Clear amber with a big white head. Aroma of sweet red berries, candied cherries, light yeast, herbs and malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bouteille(@Otto’s Fountain):Hazy, orangey-amber coloured, big and stable "pinkish" head; mild to moderate yeasty-alcoholic nose with fruits in the background; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied - almost thin;lingering fruity and alcoholic finish with some bitter tartness in the aftertaste. Not too bad, but barely convincing…
